49ers host Matthew Stafford and the Rams in a key NFC West clash

The Los Angeles Rams are set to face the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday
NOVEMBER 6 • Associated Press
Expected to start vs. Baltimore Reeder is slated to start at inside linebacker against the Ravens on Sunday due to the absence of Omar Speights (ankle), Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
Impact Speights was unable to practice all week due to a high-ankle sprain that he sustained during the Rams' Week 5 loss to the 49ers. Reeder has mostly served on special teams this season but is in line to start for the first time this season at inside linebacker alongside Nate Landman.

Nate Landman shaping up to be Rams' latest quality find at inside linebacker

Nate Landman is shaping up to be exactly what the Los Angeles Rams want at inside linebacker
AUGUST 4 • Associated Press
Falling behind competition Reeder appears to be behind both Nate Landman and Omar Speights on the Rams' depth chart at inside linebacker during training camp, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.
Impact Reeder started the first six games of the season in 2024 and served as an every-down linebacker for Los Angeles, but he injured his hamstring in Week 7 and missed the remainder of the campaign. After the Rams signed Nate Landman to a one-year deal this offseason, it appears Los Angeles is rolling with an inside linebacker duo of Landman and Omar Speights.

Rams re-sign veteran LB Troy Reeder to a 1-year deal

Linebacker Troy Reeder has agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Los Angeles Rams
APRIL 10 • Associated Press
Reunites with Los Angeles The Rams re-signed Reeder (hamstring) to a one-year contract Thursday.
Impact Reeder earned a starting role at inside linebacker to kick off the 2024 campaign, but a hamstring injury sustained Week 7 limited him to just six appearances (all starts) on the season. Now heading into his age-31 season, the decision to re-sign with Los Angeles provides Reeder another chance at earning a starting role on defense. Nate Landman, Omar Speights and Jaylen McCollough all represent competition at the linebacker position.

Ends 2024 on IR Reeder (hamstring) played in six regular-season games in 2024 and finished with 46 tackles (26 solo) and one pass defense.
Impact Coming off a 23-tackle campaign in 2023 in which he primarily served on special teams, Reeder opted to stay in Los Angeles on a one-year, $1.13 million contract in April of 2024. He ended up earning the starting inside linebacker job alongside Christian Rozeboom after a strong showing in training camp. Reeder logged at least seven combined tackles in five of six games before suffering a hamstring injury that was severe enough for him to be placed on injured reserve. He attempted to make a comeback for the NFC divisional round against the Eagles, but he was unable to progress enough in his recovery to be activated from IR. Reeder is an unrestricted free agent, and his strong play in the early portion of the 2024 regular season should draw plenty of interest from teams looking for an upgrade to its linebacker corps.
JANUARY 31 • ROTOWIRE
Ruled out for Sunday's game Reeder practiced in full Friday but has been ruled out for Sunday's road divisional round matchup against the Eagles, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Reeder was designated to return to practice from injured reserve Thursday, but he won't make his return to the field in time for the NFC divisional round. If the Rams advance over Philadelphia, Reeder will work to gain full clearance in time for Los Angeles' next playoff clash.

Rams taking a page from their past playoff success to navigate a short week against Eagles

The Los Angeles Rams have experience handling a short week in the playoffs, even if not all of them remember it
JANUARY 17 • Associated Press
Designated to return from IR The Rams designated Reeder (hamstring) to return from injured reserve Thursday.
Impact Reeder has been on injured reserve since Oct. 24 due to a hamstring injury that he suffered in Week 7 against the Raiders. Per Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio, Reeder was a full participant in Thursday's practice, but he would have to be activated from IR in order to play in Sunday's NFC divisional-round clash against Philadelphia. In the six regular-season games prior to the start of his IR stint, Reeder tallied 46 tackles (26 solo) and one pass defense.

Lands on IR with hamstring injury The Rams placed Reeder (hamstring) on injured reserve Thursday.
Impact Reeder was unable to practice during the Rams' short week due to a hamstring injury, which appears severe enough for him to warrant a stint on injured reserve. As a result, Reeder will be forced to sit out for at least the next four regular-season games, and the earliest he can return is Week 12 against the Eagles on Nov. 24. Michael Hoecht and Omar Speights will use Thursday's game against the Vikings as an opportunity to earn the second starting linebacker job alongside Christian Rozeboom while Reeder is sidelined.

Won't play against Minnesota Reeder (hamstring) was listed as a DNP on Wednesday's injury report and has been ruled out ahead of Thursday's game against the Vikings, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Impact Reeder was able to play through a toe injury earlier in the season. However, he was unable to practice all week due to a hamstring injury, and the 30-year-old linebacker will miss his first game of the season. With Reeder sidelined for Thursday's contest, Michael Hoecht and Omar Speights are the top candidates to start at inside linebacker alongside Christian Rozeboom.

Impact Reeder finished tied for the team lead in takedowns with safety Quentin Lake, reaching at least eight tackles for the fourth time this season. The linebacker has now produced 46 total tackles (26 solo) and a pass defensed over six games in 2024.

Impact Reeder managed to finish second on the team in tackles despite suffering a toe injury at some point during the game. He will now look to get healthy and produce again versus the Packers next week.
OCTOBER 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Expected to play in Week 5 Head coach Sean McVay told reporters Monday that Reeder (toe) is expected to play Sunday against the Packers, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
Impact The Delaware product appears to have sustained a toe injury during the Rams' Week 4 loss to the Bears, despite playing 96-percent of the Los Angeles' defensive snaps and recording seven total tackles. McVay added that he expects Reeder to be limited throughout the Rams' week of practice.
SEPTEMBER 30, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Gets double-digit tackles Sunday Reeder recorded 10 tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 27-24 win versus the 49ers.
Impact San Francisco rushed the ball 34 times in Week 3, creating plenty of opportunities for Reeder to defend the run. He responded by tying for the team lead in tackles. Given his sizable role in the Rams' defense, he projects as a solid IDP play for the rest of the year.
SEPTEMBER 24, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Stays consistent Reeder recorded eight tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 41-10 loss to the Cardinals.
Impact Reeder has started the 2024 campaign with eight combined tackles in back-to-back weeks, giving him 16 on the season. Next up for the Delaware product and the Rams is a Week 3 divisional matchup with the 49ers.
