Impact Matakevich was placed on IR due to a hamstring issue in mid-September and was designated to return Oct. 24. Impact Matakevich was placed on IR due to a hamstring injury mid-September, and he's now missed a total of five games due to the issue. The veteran linebacker is eligible to be activated at any point in the next three weeks, and could return as early as Monday's game against the Giants. He contributed exclusively on special teams in his two appearances this season.

Impact Matakevich sustained the hamstring injury during the second half of Pittsburgh's 13-6 win over the Broncos. He finished the game with one solo tackle while playing 19 snaps on special teams. The 2016 seventh-round pick will miss at least four games and is eligible to return in Week 7 against the Jets on Oct. 20. The Steelers will look to fill Matakevich's role on special teams.
