Impact Ioannidis didn't travel with the team to Buffalo for Week 3, as he continued to rehab from a knee injury he suffered against the Giants in Week 2. The 27-year-old has played 40-plus defensive snaps in each game he has played and should see a similar workload if he is active for Week 4. If he is unable to suit up, Tim Settle -- who played 23 defensive snaps in Ioannidis' absence against the Bills -- should draw the start against the Falcons.

Benjamin St-Juste - Won't play in Atlanta St-Juste (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
Impact St-Juste was placed in the concussion protocol after Washington's Week 2 loss to Buffalo. The rookie third-round pick will need to clear the protocol before he's eligible to retake the field, with his next opportunity to do the latter coming in Week 5 against the Saints.

Impact After missing practice Wednesday and Thursday, the running back was spotted going through position drills Friday morning. Gibson was listed as a limited participant, per Ben Standig of The Athletic, and may thus need to be treated as a game-time decision ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Washington's weekend transactions may provide a hint, considering J.D. McKissic and Jaret Patterson were the only other RBs on the 53-man roster for Friday's practice. If there's real concern about Gibson's injury, the team likely will call up Jonathan Williams from the practice squad or else bring in another running back.

Curtis Samuel - Cleared for Sunday return Coach Ron Rivera said Friday that Samuel (groin) will play in Sunday's game against the Falcons, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Samuel was designated to return from IR at the beginning of the week and now will be activated to the 53-man roster Friday or Saturday. His return presumably drops Dyami Brown to the No. 4 receiver role, though it is possible Samuel plays limited snaps right out of the gate, after a groin injury that was initially believed to be minor ended up keeping him off the field for the better part of June through September. He does get a good matchup for his return, albeit with backup QB Taylor Heinicke under center.
