Jets edge rusher Jermaine Johnson confirms he has torn Achilles tendon
Jermaine Johnson - Confirms injuryJohnson confirmed Monday via his Instagram account that he suffered a torn Achilles in Sunday's win over the Titans, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ImpactThe news was expected but is still a blow for Johnson and the Jets' defense, especially with Haason Reddick's continued holdout. This will leave New York without both of their expected starters on the edges and calling upon their depth to generate a pass rush moving forward. Johnson will likely be placed on IR soon and start focusing on his recovery, including surgery to repair his Achilles.

Michael Carter II - Dealing with reoccuring injuryHead coach Robert Saleh stated Monday that Carter is still dealing with an ankle injury that will likely limit him throughout the season, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ImpactCarter picked up the injury early in training camp and doesn't appear that it will be healing on its own anytime soon. Saleh suggested the Duke product will likely be going in and out of games throughout the season as he plays through the injury. Although things can change, it sounds like Carter should be able to play Thursday against the Patriots.

D.J. Reed - Iffy for ThursdayReed (knee) is hopeful to play Thursday against the Patriots, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ImpactReed was expected to suit up for Sunday's win over the Titans but told Cimini that after testing his knee in pregame warmups, he "wasn't feeling it." He'll likely remain limited in any practice sessions the Jets hold ahead of Thursday and be a game-time decision against New England.
