Brock Purdy day-to-day (back), Time to panic in San Francisco? | Speak

George Kittle - May return to practice this weekCoach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that the 49ers are hopeful Kittle (hamstring) returns to practice this week, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
ImpactKittle was a midweek addition to the 49ers' injury report last week due to hamstring tightness, which held him out of drills Thursday and Friday and from Sunday's loss to the Rams. San Francisco will issue its first Week 4 practice report Wednesday, at which point it'll become known if he'll be able to join his teammates on the practice field. In Kittle's place this past weekend, Eric Saubert (two catches for 41 yards on two targets) started and handled 61 of 71 offensive snaps, while Jake Tonges earned 16 and Brayden Willis four.

Christian McCaffrey - Visiting specialist in GermanyCoach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that McCaffrey is in Germany to visit with a specialist for his Achilles tendinitis, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
ImpactThe saga surrounding McCaffrey continues as he seeks all avenues to get past an injury that has plagued him since early August. Shanahan noted McCaffrey is slated to spend multiple days in Germany, perhaps with the aim to precipitate his recovery. With three games missed during his current absence, he still must reside on injured reserve for at least two more games, but there's an expectation that he'll be out six weeks and maybe more than that, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. In the meantime, Jordan Mason will continue to pace San Francisco's backfield.

The Rams' special teams were awful last season. The unit led LA to a comeback win over the 49ers

Although the Los Angeles Rams’ special teams were probably the worst in the NFL last year, Sean McVay kept coordinator Chase Blackburn in charge for a second season

Brock Purdy - Dealing with sore backCoach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Purdy is tending to a sore back after Sunday's 27-24 loss at the Rams and is considered day-to-day, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
ImpactAnd the injuries just keep coming for the 49ers, but at least in the case of Purdy, he doesn't appear to be dealing with a significant issue. Still, he may endure some practice limitations once the team reconvenes at practice Wednesday in advance of Sunday's contest against the Patriots. Whether or not WR Deebo Samuel (calf) or TE George Kittle (hamstring) are able to put themselves in positions to return to action also remains to be seen.
