Nico Collins - Called week-to-week by coachCoach DeMeco Ryans called Collins (hamstring) week-to-week Monday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports. "It takes a couple of weeks for a hamstring," Ryans said...
ImpactCollins' week-to-week status casts doubt on his availability for Sunday's game against the Patriots, though more clarity on his potential availability should surface when the Texans submit their first practice report Wednesday. Ryans originally labeled Collins day-to-day after the star receiver was injured in this past Sunday's 23-20 win over Buffalo, but the slightly less optimistic week-to-week assessment is more realistic. Despite exiting in the first half against Buffalo, Collins leads the NFL with 567 receiving yards.

Ty Johnson - Low volume in Week 5 lossJohnson carried three times for 15 yards and was not targeted in the passing game in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Texans.
ImpactJohnson was out there for a season high 36 percent of the offensive snaps, but with the Bills playing catch-up for most of the day, there wasn't much room for change-of-pace carries. Johnson remains ahead of Ray Davis in the pecking order behind starter James Cook, as Davis played only two offensive snaps Sunday. That said, the No. 2 spot in Buffalo is strictly an insurance or deep reserve play, as Cook is serving mostly as a bell-cow back and is even getting goal-line carries this season. Of the team's eight rushing touchdowns this season, Cook has four, Josh Allen has two, and Johnson and Davis have one apiece.

Cade Stover - Two catches in winStover caught both targets for six yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over Buffalo in Week 5.
ImpactThis was Stover's first game with multiple targets, and the rookie tight end has caught all four thrown his way for 51 yards (12.8 ypc). He's played 31.7 percent of the offensive snaps in 2024.

Ka'imi Fairbairn - Wins it as time expiresFairbairn converted all three field-goal attempts and two extra-point kicks in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Bills in Week 5.
ImpactFairbairn drilled a 59-yarder as time expired to give Houston the win. He had earlier booted a 50-yarder and is now 8-of-9 from the 50 and beyond. This was the third time in five games he's posted double-digit points, and the eight-year veteran is averaging 8.4 points per game. The decision to give Fairbairn a three-year contract in the offseason was a wise one; his leg has been the integral in two of Houston's four wins.
