Commanders QB Jayden Daniels' status vs. Caleb Williams, Bears unclear due to injury
Frankie Luvu - Logs sack against former teamLuvu recorded four total tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks and an additional tackle for loss, in Sunday's 40-7 win over the Panthers.
ImpactLuvu signed a three-year, $36 million contract with the Commanders this past offseason after posting a monster 2023 campaign in Carolina, where he recorded 125 total tackles, including 5.5 sacks, forced two fumbles and defended five passes across 17 regular-season games. The 28-year-old made an impact in the first matchup against his former team, as he was one of two Commanders to sack Andy Dalton. Luvu has now tallied 41 total tackles, including 4.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one pass defended through Washington's first seven games. He's expected to continue being a problem for opposing offenses as the Commanders take on the Bears in Week 8.

Dante Fowler Jr. - Nabs first career interceptionFowler recorded two total tackles (both solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one pick-six in Sunday's 40-7 win over the Panthers.
ImpactFowler ended what looked to be a promising first offensive possession for the Panthers by intercepting a screen pass intended for Miles Sanders and returning it 67-yards for a score. Not only was it the first pick-six of Fowler's nine-year NFL career, but it was also his first interception and third defensive touchdown. The first-year Commander has been extremely impactful through the team's first seven games, recording 13 total tackles, including 4.5 sacks, and one pick-six. Expect Fowler to continue making plays for Washington's defense in Week 8's matchup against the Bears.

Brandon Coleman - In concussion protocolHead coach Dan Quinn told reporters Monday that Coleman is in concussion protocol following Sunday's 40-7 win over the Panthers, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
ImpactThe 2024 third-round pick out of TCU played just 15 offensive snaps before exiting Washington's blowout win due to a concussion. Coleman's participation in practice throughout the week will provide the best indication of whether he can return for the Commanders' Week 8 matchup against the Bears. However, Coleman must clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in order to suit up Sunday, regardless of his practice participation.
OCTOBER 21ā€¢ROTOWIRE
Xavier Woods - Leading tackler through Week 7Woods recorded seven total tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 40-7 loss to the Commanders.
ImpactThe veteran safety has now accumulated 51 total tackles across the Panthers' first seven games and has 16 more tackles than Carolina's second-leading tackler, Shaq Thompson (Achilles). Woods is on pace for just under 124 total tackles across 17 regular-season games this year, which would surpass his previous best of 108 tackles with the Vikings in 2018. Expect Woods to continue being one of the few bright spots on Carolina's defense ahead of the team's Week 8 matchup against the Broncos.
