JuJu Smith-Schuster - Remains likely to playSmith-Schuster (hamstring) is expected to play Sunday against the 49ers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ImpactSmith-Schuster popped up on the injury report Thursday, logging back-to-back limited sessions to close out the practice week. It never sounded overly serious, and the Chiefs were reportedly being more cautious than anything. Smith-Schuster will look to continue to build off of his 7-130-0 performance from Week 6 against the Saints, as the veteran wideout helps fill the massive void left by Rashee Rice's season-ending knee injury.

Matthew Wright - Officially placed on IRThe 49ers placed Wright (shoulder/back) on injured reserve Saturday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
ImpactWright injured his shoulder and back in Week 6 against the Seahawks as he stepped in as the starting placekicker for Jake Moody (ankle). Anders Carlson was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, and he is expected to be the 49ers' placekicker for as long as Wright and Moody are sidelined. Wright must miss at least the next four games, and the earliest he could return is Week 12 against the Packers on Nov. 24.

Anders Carlson - Elevated to active rosterCarlson was elevated to the active roster Saturday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
ImpactThis was presumed with the injuries to both Jake Moody (ankle) and Matthew Wright (shoulder/back) in consecutive weeks. Carlson was one of the league's worst kickers in terms of extra-point conversion (34 of 39), and he also missed six of his 13 field-goal attempts from 40-plus yards out for the Packers last season. It'll be interesting to see if the second-year kicker can correct those issues with his second lease on life in the NFL.

Ricky Pearsall - All set for season debutPearsall (chest) was activated off the reserve/non-football injury list Saturday and will play in Sunday's contest against the Chiefs, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
ImpactThis was reported Friday, but the 49ers made it official with this transaction. With Jauan Jennings (hip) out ahead of the Super Bowl rematch, it'll be interesting to see how much work Pearsall will get right out of the gate. Chris Conley, the projected No. 3 target, is a capable veteran, but the 2024 first-round pick was reportedly back working out only a few short weeks after suffering a gunshot wound during an attempted robbery Aug. 31, and San Francisco might be comfortable deploying its intriguing prospect as prominently as it can in this must-watch matchup.
