Camp performance so far sufficient Coach Dan Quinn said that there is no firm plan to bring in a second kicker to compete with Koo during training camp, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Quinn conceded that during a season played amidst a pandemic, it's especially crucial to have a contingency plan at every position. The coach mentioned that the Falcons may conduct workouts to "see where we're at" in terms of the kicker and punter positions, but he also stated that the team has been satisfied with Koo's performance thus far in camp. Koo put forth a solid showing during his debut campaign as Atlanta's place kicker in 2019, going 23-for-26 on field-goal attempts and 15-for-16 on extra-point tries.

Path to starting role clear Hofrichter is primed to serve as Atlanta's starting punter after the team parted ways with Ryan Allen on Sunday, William McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
Impact One Atlanta Journal-Constitution beat writer insinuated that Allen never really had a shot at holding down the starting job, but Hofrichter's intended role for 2020 has seemingly been sealed with this transaction. After establishing a 43.9 yards-per-punt average for Syracuse during 2019, he'll now get his NFL career underway as a specialist for the Falcons. Hofrichter offers unique versatility and can be an emergency backup for Younghoe Koo, given that he has some experience place kicking from his time with the Orange.

Impact While in-person workouts remain inconceivable for the time being, Koo is still going to have to prove himself during the lead-up to the regular season. The 25-year-old is currently the only kicker on the depth chart, but Quinn has remained adamant throughout the offseason that he is seeking competition at the position. Though Koo knocked down an impressive 23 of 26 field goals during his debut campaign in Atlanta, Quinn is wary of anointing his starter prematurely. Giorgio Tavecchio entered 2019 as the lone kicker on the roster, and proceeded to make just four of nine preseason field-goal attempts before being cut.
