Just 16 yards in season finale Ertz caught three of six targets for 16 yards in Philadelphia's 20-14 loss to Washington on Sunday.

Impact Ertz led the team in targets but wasn't able to do much with them, as an ineffective Jalen Hurts was benched in favor of Nate Sudfeld to start the second half. It was a fitting end to a disappointing season for the 30-year-old, who enters the offseason with questions abounding as to whether he'll be back in Philadelphia next year. The Eagles can save about $5 million in cap space by trading him and also have a younger, cheaper and very skilled replacement in Dallas Goedert. Ertz finishes the year with 36 catches for 335 yards and one touchdown in 11 games. All of those numbers are career lows.

Impact Since Ertz returned from injured reserve Week 13 in Green Bay, he and Goedert have logged similar snap shares, but the latter has been the slightly more productive tight end, totaling 16 receptions on 24 targets to Ertz's nine and 21. Along with Goedert, the Eagles will be missing two other passing game contributors in running back Miles Sanders (knee) and receiver DeSean Jackson (ankle), so Ertz could see more looks funneled his way as a result. It's worth noting that quarterback Jalen Hurts has shown a preference to spread the ball around through his first three starts, with none of his pass catchers drawing more than eight targets in any of those games.

Impact Ertz saw just one look in the first half and was unable to come down with it. However, once Dallas Goedert left the game in the second half with a calf injury, the 30-year-old became a target magnet, racking up six targets in the fourth quarter to end up with a share of the team lead. If Goedert cannot return for Week 17 at home against Washington, Ertz should be a good bet for a similar load.

Impact Ertz finished third on the team in targets on the day but struggled to connect with Jalen Hurts on several occasions. He made the most of his two catches, however, as he delivered gains of 42 and 27 yards to lead the way in receiving yardage. Ertz had caught just four of seven targets for 39 yards over his previous two games since returning to the lineup, so while this performance wasn't his best, it was a step in the right direction with Hurts under center. The veteran will look to generate some consistency in next Sunday's tilt against the Cowboys.
