A silver lining with this news is that the team is less concerned about Ertz's injury than that of teammate Miles Sanders (who's also going in for an MRI), but Ertz is still questionable at best to dress against the GIants four days from now. If Dallas Goedert (ankle) doesn't come off IR, Richard Rodgers could serve as Philadelphia's top tight end Thursday.

Won't return Sunday Ertz has been ruled out of Sunday's contest versus the Ravens due to an ankle injury, Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press reports.
Impact Ertz was in and out of the game in the fourth quarter after getting tangled up with a Baltimore defender, ultimately favoring his left foot as he left the field the last time. Now confirmed as an ankle issue, he ends Week 6 with four catches (on 10 targets) for 33 yards. His status bears watching as the Eagles prepare for a Thursday night divisional matchup with the Giants.

On the Eagles' next possession, he again came up lame and was examined in the sideline medical tent, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. If he's unable to return, Ertz will end the game with four receptions (on 10 targets) for 33 yards.

Impact A frustrating year continues for Ertz and his fantasy managers. With a banged-up receiving corps, defenses have been able to key in on him and force someone else to beat them. As a result, the 29-year-old has totaled just 15 yards in his past two contests and has just one game of more than 45 yards all season. Nevertheless, DeSean Jackson (hamstring) and Alshon Jeffery (foot) are close to returning, and that should help Ertz start to raise his production.

Impact Ertz was unable to shake free against the 49ers' talented pass-coverage linebackers, resulting in one of the worst fantasy lines of his career. The four receptions salvaged what would have been a complete dud for those in PPR formats. The loss of fellow tight end Dallas Goedert (ankle) may end up hurting Ertz more than helping, as defenses can key in on the Eagles' top receiving threat with little to no help offered on the outside. Next week's opponent, the Pittsburgh Steelers, also boast an athletic middle linebacker in Devin Bush, so fantasy managers who roster Ertz are hoping he can break free more often than he did this Sunday.

Double-digit targets in tie Ertz corralled seven of 10 targets for 70 receiving yards during Sunday's 23-23 tie against the Bengals.
Impact Ertz, Miles Sanders (eight targets), and Greg Ward (11 targets) were the clear go-to options Week 3, as no other Eagles player attracted more than four passes throughout the course of the 70-minute contest. In terms of Ertz' fantasy outlook going forward, there is little reason to suggest he will see a decrease in usage given that Dallas Goedert (ankle) is "expected to miss some time," per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Philadelphia is also coping with a cluster of injuries to the receiving corps, with DeSean Jackson (hamstring) joining Jalen Reagor (thumb) and Alshon Jeffery (foot) on the sideline because of an in-game injury. Being one of few targets Wentz can still reliably trust, Ertz should expect plenty of work Week 4 against a San Francisco defense that currently has Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) and Richard Sherman (calf) dealing with injury.
