Impact Coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that the Jets are "not closing the door yet" on Wilson being available for Sunday's game against the Commanders, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. Wilson would start against Washington if he's able to clear concussion protocol. Should Wilson sit, Trevor Siemian -- who replaced Wilson in the first half of the 30-0 Week 15 loss to Miami -- would make his first start of 2023.

Done for day with head injury Wilson exited late in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Dolphins due to a head injury and won't return to the contest, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Impact After taking home AFC Player of the Week honors in last Sunday's 30-6 win over the Texans, Wilson got off to a dismal start against Miami. He took four sacks and completed just four of 11 attempts for 26 yards and lost a fumble before heading to the locker room during the Jets' final possession of the first half. Though CBS Sports' Tracy Wolfson relayed during the television broadcast that Wilson was experiencing dehydration, the quarterback may have sustained the head injury at some point in the first half. Trevor Siemian led a scoreless drive to a close out the second quarter and was back on the field to begin the third quarter, so he looks poised to finish the game with Wilson sidelined. The Jets' plans at quarterback are unclear heading into Week 16, as Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) could receive medical clearance to return to action for the team's Dec. 24 game against the Commanders. However, with the 5-8 Jets facing a 24-0 halftime deficit against Miami, New York may not activate Rodgers next week and could instead continue forward with either Wilson or Siemian at quarterback now that a postseason berth looks to be out of reach.

Wins battle of second overall picks Wilson completed 27 of 36 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 30-6 win over the Texans. He added three rushing attempts for 12 yards and lost a fumble.
Impact Making his first start since Week 11, Wilson posted his first 300-yard performance of the season and third of his career. Neither team scored until Wilson connected with Randall Cobb for a 15-yard touchdown on the first possession of the third quarter. That drive started a stretch of three touchdowns in four drives for the Jets. Wilson lost a fumble on the lone non-scoring possession over that span but bounced back with a three-yard touchdown pass to Breece Hall. Unless Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) is declared ready to play in Week 15 against the Dolphins, Wilson has earned himself another start after leading the offense to 30 second-half points to snap the Jets' five-game losing streak.
