INJURIES

Doubtful for Sunday Moss is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Raiders after missing practice Friday due to a neck injury, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Moss practiced fully both Wednesday and Thursday, but after missing Friday's session, the running back is trending toward missing Sunday's contest. If he is out versus Las Vegas, Chase Brown would be in line to lead the Bengals' Week 9 backfield, with Trayveon Williams in reserve and Kendall Milton a likely practice squad elevation.

Clear second fiddle again Sunday Moss rushed five times for 11 yards and secured all four targets for 28 yards in the Bengals' 37-17 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Impact Moss was seven carries behind backfield mate Chase Brown, although he was more involved in the passing game than the latter. Moss's reception total tied for his second highest of the season, and he now has a 7-61 line through the air on seven targets in the last two games. Moss projects for another hard-to-trust complementary role during a Week 9 home matchup against the Raiders.

Bengals struggle to run the ball in a 37-17 loss to the Eagles

With Joe Burrow at quarterback and an array of talented receivers, Cincinnati has a dangerous passing attack

Works as backup Moss rushed the ball six times for seven yards in Sunday's 21-14 win over the Browns. He added three receptions on three targets for 33 yards.
Impact Moss seemed to lose his grip on the lead-back role in Cincinnati after losing a fumble in the third quarter of the team's Week 6 win. That was confirmed in Week 7, as Chase Brown saw 17 touches to Moss' nine. Positively, Moss was strong as a pass catcher, highlighted by receptions of 19 and 10 yards.

Benched in win Moss rushed the ball six times for 13 yards in Sunday's 17-7 win over the Giants. He added one reception on one target for two yards.
Impact Moss was active suffering an injury scare late in Week 5, and he split work evenly with Chase Brown throughout the first half. However, he fumbled on Cincinnati's opening drive of the third quarter and did not record a carry or target for the rest of the game. Brown had a fumble of his own late in the contest -- which ultimately ended up out of bounds -- and was ineffective for the majority of the time with the backfield to himself. That likely leaves the Bengals' backfield in an ambiguous split heading into a Week 7 matchup against the Browns.

Joined by Brown as active Both Moss and Chase Brown (quadricep) are active for Sunday night's game against the Giants.
Impact Though coach Zac Taylor had previously noted that both players would be good to go for the contest, Brown subsequently was deemed questionable for the contest after being limited at practice Friday. With Brown's active status confirmed, the duo will continue to share backfield work Week 6. Through the first five games of the campaign, Moss has recorded 57 carries for 211 yards and two TDs and caught 15 passes for 124 yards and another score, while Brown has logged 41 carries for 230 yards and two touchdowns and added 10 catches for 39 yards and a TD.

Clear after full practice Moss (foot) practiced fully Friday and doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at the Giants.
Impact Earlier Friday, coach Zac Taylor told Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site that both Moss and fellow RB Chase Brown (quadricep) were good to go for Week 6 action. Having said that, Moss avoided a designation entirely on Friday's practice report, while Brown was listed as questionable after logging a second consecutive limited session. If Brown is at all inhibited this weekend, Moss could take on a bit more work than normal, which has amounted to 14.4 touches for 67 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring three TDs through five contests this season.

Impact The same applies to fellow RB Chase Brown (quadricep), which ensures that the Bengals will maintain backfield continuity in Week 6. Though the team's first five games this season, Moss has logged 57 carries for 211 yards and two TDs and caught 15 passes for 124 yards and a receiving score, while Brown has carried 41 times for 230 yards and two TDs and added 10 catches for 39 yards and a lone receiving score.

Limited in return to practice Moss (foot) returned to a limited practice Thursday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Impact Moss was unable to practice Wednesday, so his return to a limited session a day later bodes well for his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Giants. Meanwhile, fellow RB Chase Brown (quadricep) was added to Cincinnati's injury report after being deemed limited Thursday. Friday's final report will reveal whether either running back heads into the weekend with a Week 6 designation.

Present for practice Moss (foot) was in uniform for Thursday's practice, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Moss didn't practice Wednesday, so his presence on the field a day later is a positive indicator ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants. The Bengals' upcoming injury report will provide added context on that front, by clarifying Moss' official participation level Thursday.
OCTOBER 10, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Not practicing Moss (foot) didn't practice Wednesday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Impact The Bengals are now calling it a foot injury, after an ankle issue initially was reported when Moss left Sunday's loss to Baltimore in the fourth quarter. He returned to the game not long after and even took a carry, but he didn't look right and was then pulled for good, leaving Chase Brown to dominate backfield snaps at the end of the fourth quarter and into overtime. Brown should get a huge workload if Moss isn't ready to face the Giants come Sunday night.
OCTOBER 9, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Ankle injury appears minor Moss is believed to be OK after he suffered a right ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 41-38 overtime loss to the Ravens, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Impact The Bengals never officially ruled Moss out for the game after he appeared to tweak his ankle on a three-yard run with 3:57 remaining in the fourth quarter. However, after checking back into the contest later during the drive and gaining no yardage on a carry, he didn't receive another touch for the rest of the quarter or overtime. The Bengals are still likely to monitor Moss' ankle over the next few days, but Garafolo characterizes the injury as more of a scare and not something that is expected to threaten the running back's availability for Cincinnati's Week 6 game on the road versus the Giants.
OCTOBER 7, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Exits late with ankle issue Moss left Sunday's 41-38 overtime loss to the Ravens late in the fourth quarter with a right ankle injury, Mike Petraglia of the Jungle Roar podcast reports.
Impact The running back gained 24 rushing yards on nine carries and added 28 receiving yards on three catches (four targets) before limping off the field under his own power, and while Moss wasn't officially ruled out, he didn't get a touch in OT. Should the injury prove to be serious, Chase Brown -- who led the Cincy backfield with 12 carries for 46 yards Sunday -- would be in line for a big role in Week 6 against the Giants.

Bengals offense starting to click entering Week 5 showdown against rival Ravens

Despite their 1-3 start, the Cincinnati Bengals are starting to play better with a big challenge set for next week
SEPTEMBER 30, 2024 • Associated Press
Finds end zone again Moss rushed the ball 15 times for 51 yards in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Panthers. He added four catches on four targets for 27 yards and a touchdown.
Impact The Bengals came out very aggressive through the air, which limited Moss' to only four carries for eight yards through two quarters. While that mark doubled Chase Brown, the duo's usage near the goal line was interesting as Brown relieved Moss at the goal line for the team's first touchdown of the day. Just before halftime, Moss was then used at the goal line and caught a one-yard touchdown. With a lead in the second half, the Bengals used their backs evenly -- a departure from the usage that favored Moss through the first three weeks of the season. While that may be a concerning sign for him as the season progresses, Moss has three total touchdowns on the season and has topped 60 yards from scrimmage in three of four contests.

Produces off 17 touches Moss rushed 12 times for 58 yards and a touchdown while catching five passes (six targets) for 39 yards in Monday's 38-33 loss to Washington.
Impact Moss put together his best game of the season on a season-high 17 combined touches in Monday's thrilling contest. The 24-year-old also produced his best game as a receiver on a night where Joe Burrow found his groove despite taking another close loss early in the schedule. Moss remains the lead back for a potent offense that may be hitting its stride as we creep towards the quarter mark of the 2024 campaign. The 2020 third-round selection remains a must-start asset in fantasy heading into Sunday's tilt against Carolina.

Gains 47 yards on 13 touches Moss rushed 12 times for 34 yards and brought in his only target for 13 yards in Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Chiefs.
Impact The Bengals lost a hard-fought defensive battle against last year's Super Bowl champions, resulting in several underwhelming fantasy lines Sunday. Moss was one of the victims after averaging just 2.8 yards per tote in the last-second defeat. After two weeks of unfortunate game scripts for fantasy managers, Cincinnati's new starting tailback may finally receive the amount of touches against the Commanders next Monday that Moss' hopeful draftees envisioned when selecting the upside play coming into the 2024 season.
