First goalie off Thursday Schmid was the first goalie to leave the ice Thursday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports, indicating he'll tend the twine on the road versus Washington.

Impact Schmid has just one win in his last seven contests, posting a 1-4-1 record, 2.43 GAA and .908 save percentage. While Vitek Vanecek will see the bulk of the workload down the stretch, Schmid should get a few opportunities with Mackenzie Blackwood (lower body) sidelined. Still, as the No. 2 option, Schmid won't offer more than middling fantasy value.

Continues to impress Schmid made 20 saves in a 3-2 shootout win over Washington on Thursday.

Impact Schmid had no chance on the first goal, which went in off Devils defenseman John Marino's leg with just 10 seconds left in the opening frame. The second goal came midway through the third period of Dylan Strome's stick in front of the net. Schmid then bricked up the net during the shootout. He is now 7-4-1 with a sparkling 1.99 GAA and .925 save percentage and has allowed just three goals on 62 shots over his last three appearances.

Set to start Friday Schmid is slated to start on the road against Vegas on Friday, per Sam Kasan of the Devils' official site.

Impact Schmid posted a 23-save shutout Saturday versus Philadelphia and then stopped the 12 shots he faced in a relief appearance Wednesday against the Avalanche. He's 6-4-0 with a 1.91 GAA and a .930 save percentage in 11 contests this season. The Golden Knights are in a three-way tie for the 15th-ranked offense with 3.15 goals per game in 2022-23.

Schmid was summoned by New Jersey on Tuesday because Mackenzie Blackwood is dealing with a lower-body injury. This will be Schmid's first NHL game since Jan. 5, when he stopped 14 of 18 shots in a 5-3 loss to St. Louis. The Flyers are tied for 28th offensively with 2.67 goals per game this season.
