Karel Vejmelka - Set to start Wednesday Vejmelka is expected to start on the road against Florida on Wednesday, per Patrick Brown of the Coyotes' official site.

Impact Vejmelka has a 6-10-2 record, 3.32 GAA and .895 save percentage in 19 contests in 2023-24. He's allowed at least three goals in each of his last four outings, stopping 92 of 108 shots (.852 save percentage) in that span. The Panthers, who have an impressive 28-14-4 record, will be a difficult adversary for Vejmelka.

Impact In a corresponding move, Victor Soderstrom was called up from AHL Tucson on Tuesday. Stecher is expected to be out for about four-to-six weeks, so his placement on IR won't impact his timetable. He has contributed five points, 41 shots on goal, 57 blocked shots and 40 hits across 42 games this season.

Impact Brown has been in the lineup for five straight games as the Coyotes have gone with seven defensemen. That lineup strategy may not last much longer with Troy Stecher (lower body) out long term and Matt Dumba (upper body) hurt in Monday's game, but the injuries could allow Brown to stay suited up. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect much from Brown -- he has four points, 42 blocked shots, 41 PIM, 34 hits, 22 shots on net and a minus-4 rating over 25 appearances.

Liam O'Brien - Snaps drought with helper O'Brien notched an assist and four hits in Monday's 5-2 win over the Penguins.

Impact O'Brien ended his drought at 14 games with the primary helper on Nick Bjugstad's insurance marker in the third period. Steady offense is typically not a hallmark of O'Brien's play -- the 29-year-old instead relies of his physicality to stick in the lineup. He's at eight points, 108 hits, 105 PIM, 38 shots on net and a plus-5 rating through 45 appearances.

Logan Cooley - Nabs helper versus hometown team Cooley picked up an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and two PIM in Monday's 5-2 win over the Penguins.

Impact This was Cooley's first point in two games against the Penguins, his hometown team. The 19-year-old center has four points over his last seven outings, carving out solid offense while seeing a little more ice time while the Coyotes continue to play with 11 forwards and seven defensemen. The rookie is at 22 points, 74 shots on net, 24 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating through 45 contests in what has been a solid but unremarkable first full campaign.

Impact McBain has four helpers over his last five games, though his goal drought is now at 11 contests. The center has filled a middle-six role at even strength with only trace amounts of power-play time, so it's unwise to expect a consistent high level on offense for him. The 24-year-old has a solid 14 points with 28 shots on net, 64 hits, 26 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 30 outings this season.

Matias Maccelli - Helpers in consecutive contests Maccelli posted an assist in Monday's 5-2 win over the Penguins.

Impact Maccelli has a helper in each of the last two games. He hasn't stretched a point streak past two contests since his five-game surge from Dec. 7-15. The winger has been pressed into a larger role late with the absence of Nick Schmaltz (upper body), though Maccelli remains a safe bet to play in the top six under most circumstances. Maccelli has seven goals, 24 helpers, 81 shots on net and a minus-3 rating through 45 appearances.

For the season, the star forward is up to 42 points, 138 shots on net, 24 PIM and a minus-13 rating through 45 contests.

He's up to seven goals, 20 helpers, 61 shots on net and a minus-2 rating over 45 outings while most frequently filling a top-six role since late November.

Impact The Coyotes were on the power play when they were set to be called for a penalty. The Penguins replaced Tristan Jarry with an extra attacker, but then sent the puck into their own net, with Crouse getting credit as the last Arizona player to touch it. It's safe to say that's the easiest of his 18 goals this season, and it also snapped his three-game point drought. The winger has added 10 helpers, 100 shots, 77 hits, 25 PIM and a plus-1 rating through 44 appearances.

Juuso Valimaki - Nets first goal in return Valimaki scored a goal on his lone shot in Monday's 5-2 win over the Penguins.

Impact After serving as a healthy scratch in Arizona's prior six contests, Valimaki notched his first goal of the season in his return to the lineup Monday, beating Tristan Jarry from the slot to put the Coyotes ahead 2-1 in the second period. It's the first point for Valimaki since Dec. 12 -- he's now up to seven points through 31 games this season. It's been a disappointing campaign overall for the 25-year-old blueliner, as he looked poised to take a step forward following a 34-point (four goals, 30 assists) campaign in 2022-23. Still, Valimaki could have a chance to turn his season around, as he'll remain in the lineup with Troy Stecher (lower body) expected to miss the next four-to-six weeks.

Victor Soderstrom - Promoted from AHL Soderstrom was recalled from AHL Tucson on Tuesday.

Impact Matt Dumba is dealing with an upper-body injury, so Soderstrom could make his season debut with the Coyotes on Wednesday versus Florida if Dumba is unavailable. Soderstrom has picked up eight goals and 21 points through 38 AHL appearances this year.
