Impact Othmann made his NHL debut last season, playing in three regular-season games with nary a point. The 16th overall pick in 2021, Othmann had 21 goals and 28 assists in 67 regular-season games with AHL Hartford in 2023-24. He should get some time in the NHL this year as the Rangers regard him highly.

Impact The Wolf Pack were eliminated in three straight games from the AHL Atlantic Division Finals on Friday. Othmann ended the playoffs with a goal and five points in 10 games. Othmann had 21 goals and 49 points in 67 regular-season AHL games in 2023-24. Also rejoining the Rangers are: Alex Belzile, Brett Berard, Anton Blidh, Ben Harpur, Dylan Garand, Jake Leschyshyn, Connor Mackey, Victor Mancini, Tyler Pitlick, Matthew Robertson, Brandon Scanlin and Adam Sykora.

Returned to AHL The Rangers reassigned Othmann to AHL Hartford on Friday.

Impact Othmann was recalled as Artemi Panarin (lower body) and Jimmy Vesey (lower body) were both game-time decisions. Panarin and Vesey managed to play versus the Devils, leaving Othmann as a healthy scratch. The 21-year-old Othmann was drafted 16th overall in 2021 and has 14 goals and 22 assists in 44 AHL games this season. Look for Othmann to crack the Rangers lineup next season.

Impact Othmann made his NHL debut in January and played in three contests. While he was unable to hit the scoresheet, Othmann managed six shots on goal while averaging 9:05 of ice time. Othmann had 14 goals and 22 assists in 44 games with AHL Hartford before his recall. The Rangers are hurting up front, as Artemi Panarin and Jimmy Vesey are day-to-day with lower-body injuries. Should either one remain on the shelf, Othmann could garner a top-six role Thursday versus New Jersey.

Impact The Rangers are off until Thursday against St. Louis -- it wouldn't be surprising to see Othmann back with the big club prior to that contest. The 21-year-old rookie has gone scoreless through three top-level appearances this year.

Five shots in promising debut Othmann recorded five shots on goal, three hits and one blocked shot as the Rangers defeated the Blackhawks 4-1 in his NHL debut Thursday.

Impact Othmann didn't look out of place in his first NHL action. Most of his 12:26 TOI was spent playing left wing in the bottom six, but the 2021 first-round draft pick (16th overall) also took a few shifts at right wing alongside Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider while Blake Wheeler served a third-period fighting major. With Artemi Panarin and Kreider locked in as the left wings on the top two lines, Othmann's path to top-six minutes at his natural position is blocked, but the rookie should maintain a spot in the lineup with Tyler Pitlick (lower body) week-to-week and both Kaapo Kakko (lower body) and Filip Chytil (upper body) on IR.

Impact Othmann has nine goals, 23 points and 31 PIM in 28 contests with Hartford this season. The 20-year-old was selected by the Rangers with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft and has the potential to eventually become a top-line forward. His NHL debut might take place Thursday versus Chicago, though he'll likely be limited to a bottom-six role at this early stage.

Impact Othmann, who had been dealing with an upper-body injury, is slated to play alongside Vincent Trocheck and Kaapo Kakko in Tuesday's contest. The 20-year-old Othmann is competing for an NHL spot with the Rangers during camp, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he started the 2023-24 campaign with AHL Hartford.
