Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen - Back in net Saturday Luukkonen will guard the home cage Saturday against the Red Wings, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports.
Impact It'll be the third straight start for Luukkonen, who's won his last two outings, posting a .940 save percentage in that span. Overall, the 25-year-old netminder is 2-2-1 on the year with a .903 save percentage and 3.01 GAA.

Nicolas Aube-Kubel - Cleared to play Per Heather Engel of NHL.com, Aube-Kubel (lower body) is expected to be available for Saturday's game versus Detroit, coach Lindy Ruff said Friday.
Impact Aube-Kubel has had only one practice and that may cause him to be a healthy scratch Saturday. Aube-Kubel suffered the injury Opening Night in Prague on Oct. 4 and he has missed the last seven games. If Aube-Kubel sits out Saturday, he is expected to rejoin the lineup Monday versus Florida.

Zach Benson - Still not practicing Benson (lower body) is not at practice Friday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
Impact Benson missed Tuesday's tilt versus Dallas, as he has been dealing with the injury since the start of the season and the Sabres just want him to regain his health. The 13th overall pick in 2023, Benson has yet to hit the scoresheet in six games, after picking up 11 goals and 30 points in 71 regular-season games as an 18-year-old rookie. Consider him questionable for Saturday's home game against Detroit.

Ryan McLeod - Goal streak at four games McLeod scored a goal and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Stars.
Impact McLeod has scored in four straight games, and his point streak is at five contests. The 25-year-old appears to have just needed some time to build chemistry with his new teammates. McLeod saw a season-high 18:35 of ice time Tuesday, and while none of it came on the power play, if his offense stays strong, he'll get more chances there as well. He has five points, 10 shots on net and a plus-4 rating through eight appearances.

Peyton Krebs - Scores opening goal Krebs scored a goal and added two PIM in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Stars.
Impact Krebs got a shot past Jake Oettinger at 12:21 of the second period. With a point in each of the last two games, Krebs appears to be getting a bit more comfortable with his fourth-line role. The 23-year-old has a total of three points, four shots on net, 14 hits and nine PIM over seven appearances, averaging 10:56 of ice time this season compared to 12:30 per game last year.

Impact It was the third multi-point performance in the last five games for Tuch, as the Sabres' top line has caught fire. On the season, the 28-year-old has produced three goals and nine points in eight contests as he looks to bounce back from a disappointing 2023-24 campaign.

Impact The 21-year-old blueliner had a hand in Buffalo's first three goals on the night, giving Power his first multi-point performance of the season. He's had a strong start to the campaign, racking up two goals and six points in eight games, and he's done it without the benefit of any power-play production. As long as Rasmus Dahlin is healthy though, Power will remain limited to the Sabres' second unit despite his offensive talent.
