Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen - Slated starter Wednesday Luukkonen is expected to start on the road against Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
Impact Luukkonen lost his first two starts of the 2024-25 campaign while stopping 39 of 44 shots (.886 save percentage). Meanwhile, Pittsburgh has gotten off to a solid start offensively, tying for 10th with 3.50 goals per game. With Luukkonen starting Wednesday, Devon Levi might get the nod for Thursday's road game versus Columbus.

Impact Peterka looks close to getting back in the lineup after missing the Sabres' last two matchups due to his concussion. If given the all-clear, the 22-year-old winger should be in line for both a top-six role in addition to linking up with one of the power-play units. Impact Samuelsson is not a high scorer, as the 24-year-old typically features in more of a shutdown role. The goal was his first point through four games, and he's added six shots on net, 10 hits and six blocked shots while averaging 16:08 of ice time. Samuelsson should be a fixture in the lineup in 2024-25, but he's topped out at 10 points and 55 games over the first four seasons of his career, so there's little upside and significant injury risk involved in his play.

Henri Jokiharju - Scores game-winner Saturday Jokiharju scored a goal and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
Impact Jokiharju's second-period goal was the game-winner as well as his first point through four contests. The 25-year-old defenseman plays more of a stay-at-home role, often on the top pairing to allow Rasmus Dahlin to roam the ice. Jokiharju has added six shots on net, five blocked shots and four hits this season. He's yet to score more than four goals or produce more than 20 points in a single season.

Jordan Greenway - Productive in Saturday's win Greenway scored a goal on two shots, blocked three shots, added four PIM and went plus-3 in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
Impact Greenway has done a little bit of everything over four games this season. He has a goal, an assist, nine shots on net, nine hits, six blocked shots and a plus-2 rating. The 27-year-old winger mainly plays in a third-line role, but he saw 17:05 of ice time with the Sabres playing 11 forwards and seven defensemen Saturday. Greenway's usage early in the year and his all-around production despite the lack of a power-play role makes him an interesting target for fantasy managers in deep formats.

Tage Thompson - Nets second goal Thompson scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
Impact Thompson has managed two goals over four games, though the Sabres have tallied just eight times as a team. The center has added 14 shots on net and a minus-2 rating. While it's a bit of a sluggish start, Thompson is not at risk of losing power-play time or his first-line spot, so he's in a position to find more consistency as the season progresses.

Alex Tuch - Two-point effort in win Tuch scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
Impact The 28-year-old winger helped set up Tage Thompson for a first-period tally that put the Sabres in the lead for good, and Tuch then capped the scoring in the third with an empty-netter. He's collected two goals and four points over the last three games, a strong start to the campaign as Tuch looks to regain the form he flashed in a career-best 2022-23, when he racked up 36 goals and 79 points in 74 contests.

Impact Nate Schmidt finished an odd-man rush for Florida midway through the first period to open the scoring, but Buffalo scored the next four goals in support of its 22-year-old goalie, and Levi cruised from there. He's looked good in his first two starts of 2024-25, posting a .919 save percentage on 62 shots, but Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is still expected to see the majority of the action in the crease for the Sabres this season.

JJ Peterka - Out Saturday Peterka (concussion) won't play Saturday against the Panthers, Joe Yerdon of Bleacher Report reports.
Impact It'll be the second game Peterka's missed after sustaining a concussion in the NHL Global Series against the Devils earlier this month. The 22-year-old Peterka was able to practice Friday, so it appears he could return as soon as Wednesday against the Penguins. Jiri Kulich figures to remain in a top-six role while Peterka's sidelined.
