James Reimer - Facing Detroit Reimer will patrol the home crease Monday against the Red Wings, according to Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550.
Impact Reimer's last appearance came in a 3-0 loss to the Islanders on Nov. 30. The 36-year-old conceded nine goals over two starts with Anaheim, but he's been better after being acquired in a trade by Buffalo -- he has a 1-1-0 record, 2.05 GAA and .923 save percentage through two appearances with the Sabres. Reimer has a favorable matchup against a Detroit club that ranks 29th in the NHL with 2.48 goals per game through 27 contests.

Jordan Greenway - Removed from IR Greenway (undisclosed) was activated from injured reserve Monday, per the NHL media site.
Impact Greenway should return to the lineup versus Detroit on Monday after missing the last 10 games due to a mid-body injury. He has registered three goals, six points, 20 shots on net, 16 blocked shots and 40 hits through 16 appearances this campaign. After alternating line drills with Greenway during Sunday's practice, John-Jason Peterka might be the odd man out of the lineup.

Rasmus Dahlin - Lands on injured reserve Dahlin (back) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per the NHL media site.
Impact Head coach Lindy Ruff said Monday that Dahlin went through a rehab skate with no issues and could return to game action Saturday against the Capitals or Sunday against the Maple Leafs. The defenseman has been dealing with back spasms since Buffalo's Dec. 3 matchup against the Avalanche, and he could still be in the mix to be activated over the weekend. However, Dahlin's move to injured reserve allowed the Sabres to activate Jordan Greenway (undisclosed) ahead of Monday's game against the Red Wings.

Prior to getting hurt, the 24-year-old blueliner was stuck in a four-game pointless streak during which he generated 10 shots, four hits and four blocks while averaging 24:25 of ice time. Once cleared to return, Dahlin will link back up with the No. 1 power-play unit and should eventually break out of his slump. With Jordan Greenway (undisclosed) likely to be activated ahead of Monday's clash with Detroit, Dahlin may have to be designated for injured reserve in order to clear up a roster spot.

Impact Gilbert was in the lineup for the second game in a row, covering for the absence of Rasmus Dahlin (back). The 28-year-old Gilbert remains limited to third-pairing usage when he plays. His helper Saturday was his first point in nearly a year -- his last contribution was a goal and an assist on New Year's Eve of 2023. He's added 22 hits, 25 PIM and eight blocked shots over eight outings this season, and he'll likely return to being a healthy scratch once Dahlin returns.

Owen Power - Gathers helper Saturday Power notched an assist, four shots on goal and two blocked shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Utah.
Impact Power ended a six-game slump when he helped out on a Jiri Kulich goal late in the third period. There's still a bit of a learning curve for Power at the NHL level, though he's facing it while averaging 22:20 per game this season. He's collected 16 points, 48 shots on net, 43 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 27 appearances. Power will continue to fill a larger role while Rasmus Dahlin (back) is out of the lineup.

Jiri Kulich - Pots goal late in loss Kulich scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Utah.
Impact Kulich tallied at 17:40 of the third period, which was too late to make much of a difference in the game. The 20-year-old forward snapped a six-game point drought with the tally. He's up to three goals, 41 shots on net, 16 hits and a minus-1 rating over 18 appearances, and he's yet to log an assist. While he has a bright future, his current performance doesn't rise to the level of fantasy relevance in most formats.

Impact The Sabres are on a skid -- they've lost six straight games and been outscored 21-11 in that span. Luukkonen himself hasn't won since Nov. 22; he's 0-3-2 in that span with 18 goals allowed. UPL is a talented guy, but that talent can't save a team that's in a spiral. Park him on your bench until the Sabres start to get their game back.

Impact It was his first NHL goal. Kozak opened the scoring in the first period when he redirected a pass at the front of the net under Karel Vejmelka's left arm. He had a goal overturned in his NHL debut against the Jets on Thursday. Kozak, who was selected 193rd overall in the seventh round of the 2021 NHL Draft, is the first player selected in the sixth round or later of that draft to score an NHL goal.
