Connor Clifton - Pockets helper in win Clifton notched an assist, three hits and two blocked shots in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.

Impact Clifton appears to be a regular on the Sabres' blue line -- he's been scratched in just one of the team's first 14 games. Henri Jokiharju and Mattias Samuelsson have fallen out of favor with leaky defense, and considering the Sabres have allowed just two goals over two games with those two out of the lineup, Clifton shouldn't be facing an immediate challenge for playing time. Clifton has three assists, 11 shots on net, 35 hits, 22 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 13 contests in a third-pairing role.

Beck Malenstyn - Posts helper Thursday Malenstyn notched an assist, two blocked shots and two PIM in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.

Impact Malenstyn ended a five-game slump with the helper. The 26-year-old has played on the fourth line throughout 2024-25, picking up three points, 13 shots on net, 13 blocked shots, 36 hits and eight PIM over 14 contests. His place in the lineup looks fairly secure, but Malenstyn's biggest contributions will come in hits rather than points, so he's only an option in deep fantasy formats.

Peyton Krebs - Generates assist in win Krebs recorded an assist, three hits and two PIM in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.

Impact Krebs helped out on linemate Sam Lafferty's goal in the second period, which chased Igor Shesterkin from the game. Playing in a fourth-line role, Krebs has four points, seven shots on net, 24 hits, 13 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 13 contests. He's averaging 11:40 of ice time per game, down from 12:30 last year, so the 23-year-old is likely to remain limited on offense. He can be productive in hits and PIM, but it's not often enough to move the needle in fantasy.

Sam Lafferty - Finds twine Thursday Lafferty scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.

Impact The goal was Lafferty's first point through 13 appearances this season. The Sabres got contributions from all over the lineup Thursday, which has been a bit of a rarity early in 2024-25. Lafferty has added seven shots on net, 18 hits, 10 PIM and a minus-1 rating while averaging 9:49 of ice time per game in a fourth-line role.

Jordan Greenway - Scores in blowout win Greenway scored a goal and added two hits in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.

Impact Greenway looks to be turning things around with two points over his last two games. The 27-year-old had been held off the scoresheet for the four contests prior to his uptick in scoring. The winger has three goals, three assists, 19 shots on net, 30 hits, 15 blocked shots, 11 PIM and a plus-5 rating over 13 outings. Greenway adds physicality and some defensive work in a third-line role, though his offense is likely to be modest at best.

Impact Dahlin endured a rough start to the campaign, but the defenseman has been trending in the right direction over the last few weeks. He's cracked the scoresheet in all but one of his last six outings, tallying two goals and six helpers, including three in the power play, in that span.

Zach Benson - Scores, assists Thursday Benson scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.

Impact Benson had gone scoreless in his first seven appearances this season, but he snapped that drought in style, being only one of two Buffalo players who recorded multi-point efforts as the Sabres thrashed the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. The 19-year-old notched 30 points across 71 games as a rookie in 2023-24, and this might be the performance that can get him going following a slow start to the campaign.

Jack Quinn - Two helpers Thursday Quinn recorded two assists, including one in the power play, in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.

Impact Quinn was one of two Buffalo players who recorded multi-point efforts in a game where each one of the 12 Sabres forwards picked up at least one point. That said, Quinn only has one goal and three helpers in 13 appearances this season, so he shouldn't provide a lot of scoring in most fantasy formats going forward.

Dylan Cozens - Lights lamp vs. Rangers Cozens scored a goal and took four shots in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.

Impact Cozens has found the back of the net in two of his last four contests. Those have been his lone two goals in the campaign, and while the 23-year-old has been playing better in recent weeks after a slow start to the season, he's not producing enough -- or with any kind of consistency -- to be trusted as a reliable fantasy option across all formats.

Tage Thompson - Nets goal vs. Rangers Thompson scored a goal in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.

Impact Thompson scored for the second consecutive game, and the 27-year-old playmaker continues to enjoy an excellent start to the campaign with at least one point in all but three of his appearances. Thompson was coming off a relatively down year in 2023-24, where he posted 29 goals and 56 points across 71 regular-season contests, but he seems to be on a good pace to surpass that tally in 2024-25 with 16 points across his first 14 contests.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen - Excellent display once again Luukkonen stopped 25 of 26 shots in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.

Impact Luukkonen earned his second consecutive win and has given up two or fewer goals in three straight outings, so he's been on a roll of late. Winner in five of his past seven appearances, Luukkonen owns a 5-2-0 record with a 2.31 GAA and a .924 save percentage across that span.
