Alex Nylander - Practices SaturdayNylander (not injury related) took part in Saturday's practice, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
ImpactNylander could make his Columbus debut Sunday versus the Rangers after joining his teammates on the ice for the first time Saturday. The Blue Jackets acquired Nylander and a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft from Pittsburgh on Thursday in exchange for Emil Bemstrom. The 25-year-old Nylander has 14 goals and 34 points in 98 career NHL contests.

Kale Clague - Supplies apple in winClague posted an assist in Friday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jackets.
ImpactClague was promoted to the parent club Monday, following Owen Power's placement on injured reserve due to a hand injury. There had been a fair amount of hype with Clague when the Kings took him in the second round (No. 51 overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, but the defenseman has since appeared in just 93 top-level contests between the Kings, Canadiens and Sabres, adding a pair of goals and 19 assists in a five-year span.

Jacob Bryson - Provides helper in winBryson provided an assist that held up as the game-winner in Friday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jackets.
ImpactBryson danced around the blue line and fed Connor Clifton for his partner's first goal with the Sabres. The former continues to hold down the fort while Owen Power (hand) remains on injured reserve, with Bryson's running total consisting of three assists, five hits and 14 blocked shots through 11 games. At least in terms of assists and points, the 26-year-old has that same output with AHL Rochester this season.

Zach Benson - Supplies assist in low-scoring gameBenson added an assist in Friday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jackets.
ImpactBenson is showing flashes of his potential as the 13th overall pick from the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. The 5-foot-9 prospect has six goals and 11 assists through 46 games and 14:50 of average ice time, but expectations should be tempered as he's just 18 years old and trying to prove he belongs after making the grand leap from the WHL directly to hockey's highest level of competition.

Dmitri Voronkov - Supplies only offense in lossVoronkov scored a power-play goal in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Sabres.
ImpactThe big rookie tapped home a Kirill Marchenko pass midway through the first period to give the Blue Jackets an early lead, but the team couldn't solve Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen the rest of the night. Voronkov hasn't recorded an assist since Jan. 2, but that doesn't mean the 23-year-old center has been unproductive -- he's racked up eight goals over the last 13 games, with three of them coming on the power play.

Daniil Tarasov - Takes tough loss FridayTarasov stopped 35 shots in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Sabres.
ImpactThe 24-year-old netminder came up with some huge saves early to keep the Blue Jackets from getting blown out, but Tarasov didn't get much offensive support and eventually gave up the game-winner early in the third period on a Connor Clifton shot through a screen. Tarasov has looked good while starting back-to-back games, allowing four goals on 66 shots, and he could be making a push for Elvis Merzlikins' starting job.
