Patrick Kane - Secures power-play helperKane posted a power-play assist, two shots on goal and two PIM in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Sabres.
ImpactKane has three assists over his last four games, but he hasn't netted a goal in that span. The 35-year-old winger is looking pretty good early on with eight points (four on the power play), 18 shots on net, four PIM and a minus-4 rating through 11 appearances. Kane and Lucas Raymond have often bounced between the first and second lines, but both play on the top power-play unit and should continue to see steady ice time.

Dylan Larkin - Two PP tallies in winLarkin scored two power-play goals, one the game-winner, in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Sabres.
ImpactThe Red Wings captain was involved in all the offense on the night, and all three goals came on Detroit power plays. It was Larkin's giveaway in the neutral zone that sprung Alex Tuch for a shortie to open the scoring for Buffalo midway through the first period, but he redeemed himself by striking twice with the man advantage in the second frame. Larkin is up to seven goals in 11 games to begin the season, with five of them coming on the power play, but he's contributed only one assist.

Cam Talbot - Sharp in Saturday's winTalbot turned aside 31 shots in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Sabres.
ImpactAlex Tuch beat him on a shorthanded breakaway midway through the first period, but Talbot shut the door the rest of the way. The veteran netminder is settling into a timeshare with Alex Lyon, and through six appearances this season Talbot has a 3-1-1 record with a 2.74 GAA and .923 save percentage.

Alex Tuch - Strikes for shortie SaturdayTuch scored a shorthanded goal in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Red Wings.
ImpactThe 28-year-old winger opened the scoring midway through the first period by picking the pocket of Dylan Larkin in the neutral zone and then beating Cam Talbot on the ensuing breakaway. It was all the offense the Sabres could muster, however. Tuch is still looking for his first power-play point of the season despite a regular spot on the first unit, but two of his four goals through 12 games have come on the penalty kill -- the first time in his career he's scored multiple shorties in a season.
NOVEMBER 3ROTOWIRE
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen - Tough loss SaturdayLuukkonen stopped 21 shots in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Red Wings.
ImpactBoth pucks that beat Luukkonen came on Detroit power plays, with Dylan Larkin sniping both in the second period, and the Buffalo offense couldn't find a response. Luukkonen has started five of the Sabres' last six games as he settles into the No. 1 role, going 3-2-0 with a 2.84 GAA and .904 save percentage over that stretch.
