ImpactJohn-Jason Peterka left Saturday's game with a concussion and is considered day-to-day. After Peterka's exit, Greenway took his spot on the top line with Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch, and that trio combined for the Sabres' lone goal. Greenway doesn't have an extended history of success in a top-six role, though he produced a decent 28 points over 67 appearances while averaging 17:15 of ice time per game last year. The 27-year-old winger plays a heavy game and could have fantasy appeal in deeper formats if he remains on the top line throughout Peterka's absence.

ImpactThompson opened the scoring at 8:18 of the second period, but that was all the Sabres could manage against Jake Allen. Buffalo scored just twice over the two-game NHL Global Series in Prague, which is at least mildly concerning after the team fell short of expectations in 2023-24. Thompson was at the forefront of that decline, producing just 56 points in 71 contests a year after his breakout 94-point season. He has a goal, six shots and a minus-1 rating across two contests to begin 2024-25.

ImpactCotter has enjoyed a hot start to the season with two goals and an assist over his first two games. The 24-year-old has added four shots on net, three hits and a plus-3 rating. He was occasionally shuffled out of the lineup during his time with the Golden Knights over the last two years, but he looks set to see consistent bottom-six minutes with the Devils. If his offense follows him back stateside, he should be able to surpass the 25-point campaign he produced in 2023-24.

Timo Meier - Scores in Saturday's winMeier scored a goal on a game-high eight shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Sabres.

ImpactMeier was held off the scoresheet in the season opener, but he was able to chip in with an insurance tally in the second contest. The winger has added 10 shots, three hits and three blocked shots. Meier is firmly in a top-six role and healthy after undergoing shoulder surgery in April, giving him a chance to put together a better season than the 52-point effort he put forth in 2023-24.
