Limited offense in part-time role De Haan was scratched for the third time in eight November games when he sat out Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Flyers.

Impact De Haan has played a majority of the time, logging one assist, 22 shots on net, 19 hits and 28 blocked shots over 15 appearances. The 33-year-old is not a full-time player, and he's often limited to a third-pairing role when the Avalanche are healthy on defense. The blueliner will likely continue to rotate in and out of the lineup while competing with Oliver Kylington and John Ludvig for playing time.

Signs one-year deal De Haan signed a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Avalanche on Monday, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

Impact De Haan had three goals, 10 points, 96 hits and 82 blocks in 59 regular-season appearances with the Lightning in 2023-24. The 33-year-old should be in the mix for a third-pairing role, but it wouldn't be surprising if he ends up as Colorado's seventh defenseman on the depth charts.

At his best, de Haan could give you triple-digit hits and blocked shots, but he needs to ink a contract this summer. He'll soon be 33, and the journeyman may struggle to find a suitor.
