Impact Kotkaniemi has four goals and an assist during a four-game point streak. The Hurricanes' trade for Mikko Rantanen and Taylor Hall on Friday will lead to some tinkering of the forward lines until head coach Rod Brind'Amour finds combinations he likes, so it's possible Kotkaniemi could move around the lineup a bit. He's still centering the second line for now, and he won't have to worry about Jack Drury pushing him for that spot -- he was dealt to Colorado as part of the price paid for Rantanen. Kotkaniemi is at 24 points, 79 shots on net, 47 hits, 37 PIM and a plus-9 rating over 50 contests in 2024-25.

Impact Roslovic ended December on a five-game point streak, but this tally was his first point over 13 outings in January. That slump has cost Roslovic a top-six spot for now, and it'll be tougher for him to see top-line minutes after the Hurricanes traded for Mikko Rantanen and Taylor Hall on Friday. Roslovic has had some flashes of quality with 18 goals, eight assists, 96 shots on net and a minus-5 rating over 50 appearances this season, but he was last in ice time (8:12) among Carolina skaters in Saturday's game.

Impact Aho gave the Hurricanes a 2-0 lead in the first period. The center has three goals and three assists over his last four contests. While new teammate and fellow Finn Mikko Rantanen didn't get involved in the offense Saturday, Aho's fantasy managers should be happy to see him skating alongside a top-10 scorer in the league for the rest of the season. Aho already has a strong 50 points in 50 games (16 goals, 34 assists), and he's added 135 shots on net, 42 hits and a minus-4 rating. The goal-scoring has been lacking a bit for Aho this year, but Rantanen can provide just as well as he finishes, so that bodes well for Aho getting a few more pucks to go in.

Pyotr Kochetkov - Can't maintain lead Kochetkov stopped 23 of 26 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Islanders.
Impact The Hurricanes had a 2-0 lead early in the first period, but Kochetkov couldn't make it stick. He let in a goal prior to the intermission and gave up the equalizer to Anders Lee in the third period. Brock Nelson finished the Islanders' comeback in overtime, sending Kochetkov to his second defeat in five outings. The 25-year-old netminder slipped to 18-9-3 with a 2.48 GAA and a .903 save percentage over 31 starts. If the Hurricanes continue to alternate goalie starts, Frederik Andersen would face the Rangers on Tuesday while Kochetkov would get a home assignment versus the Blackhawks on Thursday.
