Laurent Brossoit - Could miss start of season Brossoit underwent successful surgery Tuesday to repair the meniscus in his right knee, according to Tracey Myers of NHL.com. Impact Fresh off of signing a two-year, $6.6 million contract with Chicago in July, Brossoit will likely miss training camp with the potential of starting the season on the shelf. This news comes as a surprise, so Brossoit's recovery will be something to monitor as the season approaches. The 31-year-old has been one of the more capable NHL backup netminders over the last few years, so it's possible he could challenge Petr Mrazek for the starting gig when healthy. Brossoit went 15-5-2 with a .927 save percentage and a 2.00 GAA with Winnipeg in 2023-24.
