Hoping to return for postseason Seabrook (hip) will attempt to play in the NHL's upcoming 24-team playoff, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports. Impact Seabrook underwent surgery on his right shoulder in December before undergoing surgery on his left hip in January and right hip in February. The 35-year-old blueliner clearly wasn't the same player he once was this season, which led to he and the Blackhawks making the decision to have him undergo that laundry list of surgeries in the hope that he'd be revitalized and ready to return closer to full health in 2020-21 than he's been in years. However, thanks to the NHL's lengthy hiatus, the 15-year vet may be able to come back and contribute in Chicago's qualifying round matchup against the Oilers. Seabrook has yet to be cleared for contact, but he has been skating, and he appears on track to join the Blackhawks for training camp, which is set to get underway July 13. Another update on the three-time Stanley Cup champion should emerge shortly after training camp kicks off.
