ImpactKesselring has helpers in each of the last two games. The 23-year-old received steady playing time when Juuso Valimaki was out with a mouth injury, but Valimaki returned Thursday with the Coyotes using seven defensemen. Kesselring, Josh Brown or Troy Stecher seem like the likeliest candidates to get squeezed out if the Coyotes return to a traditional six-blueliner arrangement. Kesselring has three helpers, eight hits, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through seven outings.

Troy Stecher - Gets on scoresheet with assistStecher notched an assist, three hits and two blocked shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Avalanche.
ImpactStecher ended a seven-game point drought with the helper. The 29-year-old has maintained a regular role in the Coyotes' lineup after being scratched for two of the first three games of the season, though he's often limited to bottom-four usage with no power-play time. Overall, he's managed three points, 18 shots on net, 21 hits, 30 blocked shots, 10 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 20 appearances.

Liam O'Brien - Snaps slump with helperO'Brien picked up an assist and seven PIM in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Avalanche.
ImpactO'Brien set up a Travis Boyd goal in the second period and fought Josh Manson in the third. After a burst of offense around the start of November, O'Brien went quiet for 10 games before his helper Thursday. As an enforcer, it's not unusual for the 29-year-old to endure long scoreless stretches. He's managed six points, 43 hits, 64 PIM, 19 shots on goal and a plus-3 rating through 22 outings in a bottom-six role.

ImpactKerfoot continues to improve after a move to the third-line center spot. He's earned five helpers over his last six games, and his assist Thursday was his first power-play point of the campaign. The 29-year-old has nine points, 30 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through 22 appearances. He should remain on the third line until Barrett Hayton (upper body) or Jack McBain (lower body) are available to play again.
