Bowen Byram - In box for two goalsByram had one shot on goal, three hits and four penalty minutes over 19:25 of ice time in Thursday's 5-0 loss to Tampa Bay.
ImpactIn his second game back from a 38-game absence, Byram did more to hurt than help. He picked up two hooking penalties which led to both Lightning power-play goals. With Cale Makar (upper body) out of action through at least Saturday, the Avalanche need Byram to help replace Makar's offensive capabilities.

Nicholas Paul - Doubtful SaturdayPaul (upper body) is doubtful for Saturday's tilt in Dallas, Chris Krenn of the Lightning's official site reports.
ImpactPaul sat out Thurday's game versus Colorado and did not practice Friday. Paul has 16 goals and 26 points in 50 games this season, but is pointless in his last five games.

Andreas Englund - Returns to lineupEnglund had two shots on goal, five hits and one blocked shot over 8:39 of ice time in Thursday's 5-0 loss to the Lightning.
ImpactEnglund was a healthy scratch Tuesday when the Avalanche resumed play following the midseason break, but he was needed Thursday as Colorado played without its best defenseman, Cale Makar (upper body). Makar will also miss Saturday's contest against Florida, so Englund and his hit machine (86 hits in 29 games) should be in the lineup again.
