ImpactMcMichael tied the game 2-2 at the midpoint of the opening period, beating Alexandar Georgiev off an Avalanche turnover. It's the first goal since Jan. 3 for McMichael, who now has three points in his last four games after logging just one assist in his previous 12 contests. The 23-year-old center is up to eight goals and 18 points through 50 games this season.

Alex Ovechkin - Extends streak with power-play goalOvechkin scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Colorado.
ImpactOvechkin cut the Caps' deficit to 4-3 midway through the third period, beating Alexandar Georgiev with his signature slapshot on the power play. The 38-year-old Ovechkin now has goals in six straight games and points in his last seven contests, totaling six goals and three assists in that span. ImpactMantha grabbed his first assist on Connor McMichael's first-period tally before setting up Alex Ovechkin's power-play marker in the third. The 29-year-old Mantha now has seven points (four goals, three assists) in his last eight contests. He's up to 16 goals and 26 points through 48 games this season.

ImpactFollowing a brief two-game stint on the second line, Drouin was moved back to the first line as part of head coach Jared Bednar's line tweaks. The changes were designed to snap Colorado from its four-game losing streak, so mission accomplished. Drouin took what had been the spot belonging to Artturi Lehkonen, who was moved to the second line and produced two goals and two assists. The line changes are expected to hold when the Avalanche take on the Lightning in Tampa on Thursday.
