Ivan Provorov - Registers helper in win Provorov notched an assist, four shots on goal, two blocked shots, two PIM and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Sabres.
Impact Provorov fills more of a shutdown role in the Blue Jackets' top four, so it's unlikely he'll ever be reliable on offense. The helper was his first point through four contests this season, to go with six shots on net, six blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating. Over his first eight NHL campaigns, he's topped 30 points on five occasions while reaching the 100-hit mark three times and never posting fewer than 106 blocked shots, so he has some fantasy value in formats that reward non-scoring production.

Zach Aston-Reese - Scores first goal with new team Aston-Reese scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Sabres.
Impact Aston-Reese has played in all four games for the Blue Jackets this season, adding six shots on net, four hits, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating. The 30-year-old forward had a brush with an upper-body injury, but he was able to avoid missing further action. The Blue Jackets are already missing four of their regular forwards, so Aston-Reese should be able to stick in the lineup moving forward, and he could even ascend to a middle-six role after starting the campaign on the fourth line.

Damon Severson - Lights lamp Thursday Severson scored a goal, blocked two shots and went plus-4 in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Sabres.
Impact Severson continues his strong offense to begin the year -- he has a goal and three assists over four contests. The 30-year-old defenseman has also been positive in plus-minus rating in three of those games, with a plus-4 rating overall. He's in a top-four role and on the second power-play unit, and with contributions in points and blocked shots, he can help fantasy managers in deeper formats.

Adam Fantilli - Scores in Thursday's win Fantilli scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Sabres.
Impact Fantilli's goal stretched the Blue Jackets' lead to 3-1 in the second period. The 20-year-old center has played on the second line so far, and with injuries mounting once again for Columbus, he'll likely be leaned on heavily in the coming weeks. He has two goals, 12 shots on net, four hits and five blocked shots through four contests. It wouldn't take much more for Fantilli to enjoy a breakout campaign after producing 27 points over 49 regular-season contests as a rookie last year.

Impact The 25-year-old came into the season with only 44 NHL games and seven points (one goal, six assists) under his belt, but Christiansen has been impressive to begin the 2024-25 campaign. Through four games he's recorded three helpers, six shots, three hits, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating. Christiansen's play has effectively kept top prospect David Jiricek as a healthy scratch for every game so far.

Impact The blueliner helped set up Yegor Chinakhov in the first period for Columbus' first goal of the night, then fed Adam Fantilli for a tally in the second. Werenski has had a strong start to the season with two goals and four points in four games while adding an eye-popping 20 shots on net.

Kent Johnson - Outlook not good Johnson's upper-body injury looks like it will cost him time, but the Blue Jackets will know more on the 21-year-old's status Friday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
