Mathieu Joseph - Playing time continues to slideJoseph has been scratched in five of the Blues' eight games since the holiday break, including Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Blue Jackets.

ImpactThe competition for bottom-six minutes in St. Louis has been tight, and Joseph has not differentiated himself from other players. Alexandre Texier and Zachary Bolduc have also often been scratches, and those three players appear to be competing for one spot in the lineup for now. Joseph had failed to record a point in his last 17 outings, which certainly isn't helping his cause. He has four points, 31 shots on net, 43 hits and a minus-6 rating over 26 games.

ImpactColumbus assigned Jet Greaves to the minors in a corresponding move. During his conditioning stint, Tarasov surrendered six goals on 65 shots in two AHL outings en route to a 1-1-0 record. ImpactBinnington looked solid between the pipes Saturday, but he didn't get enough support from the offense in this one. As a result, he was forced to settle with the defeat for the second straight appearance, and for the third time over his last five starts. The 31-year-old has gone 2-3-0 with a 2.70 GAA and a .893 save percentage during that five-game stretch despite allowing two or fewer goals three times.

ImpactParayko has been playing at a high level in recent weeks, and even though he went pointless in the Blues' previous two contests, he returned to the scoresheet with his third-period goal in this one. This means the 31-year-old blueliner has either recorded a goal or an assist in six of his last nine appearances, tallying eight points (three goals, five helpers) in that stretch. With 24 points across 44 appearances this season, Parayko is definitely on pace to surpass his career-best mark of 35 points in a season, a feat he's accomplished in three different campaigns.

ImpactSillinger missed the 6-2 win over the Kraken on Thursday due to an illness, but the 21-year-old center returned to action and found the back of the net in the latter stages of the second frame with a power-play tally to give Columbus a 2-0 lead. This was Sillinger's first goal since Dec. 17, when he notched a power-play tally in a 5-3 loss to the Lightning. He's up to 23 points on 41 games this season, racking up seven goals and 16 assists, but he seems to be trending in the right direction after cracking the scoresheet in three of his last four appearances.
