Impact Bourque has been dealing with a minor injury since late September, and even though he returned to practice last week, he'll be forced to miss the start of the regular season. The 22-year-old tallied 77 points over 71 appearances with AHL Texas last year en route to AHL MVP honors, and he could have a middle-six role for Dallas once he's healthy.

Expected to play Thursday Johnston, who is dealing with an undisclosed injury, is still expected to suit up versus Nashville on Thursday, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports.
Impact Johnston played in all 82 games in each of the previous two seasons, but that record could be in doubt if he suffers a setback ahead of Thursday's Opening Night clash. If he does avoid any extended absences, Johnston could challenge his career-high numbers from last season when he set personal bests in goals (32), assists (33) and shots (216).

Selected with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, Bichsel is a towering defenseman with plenty of potential, but he'll need more time to hone his skills before eventually making his NHL debut.

Impact Lind had a big 2023-24 campaign in the AHL, generating 22 goals and 54 assists in 87 regular season and playoff action with Coachella Valley of the AHL. The winger also played a game with Seattle, but he didn't hit the scoresheet. Lind inked a two-way deal with Dallas in the offseason and is set to star with AHL Texas, should he pass through waivers.
