Lucas Raymond - Records assist Thursday Raymond notched an assist and four shots on goal in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Rangers.
Impact Raymond has four helpers and 11 shots on net through four contests this season. That's a bit of bad luck to not have a goal yet, but the 22-year-old is still involved in the offense. While he saw just 15:26 of ice time in Thursday's loss, Raymond is a virtual lock to remain in a top-six role throughout the year after signing an eight-year contract with a cap hit just north of $8 million in September.

Alex Lyon - Guarding cage Saturday Lyon will patrol the crease for Saturday's road clash with the Predators, Carley Johnston of the Red Wings' official site reports.
Impact Lyon is still looking for his first win of the season but is coming off a perfect 15-for-5 save performance in relief of Cam Talbot against the Rangers on Wednesday. In his previous start, also versus New York, the 31-year-old Lyon stopped 24 of 27 shots in a losing effort. If he can put together a strong performance, Lyon might be capable of prying the starting gig away from Talbot.

Jeff Petry - Ready to rock Petry (upper body) will return to the lineup Saturday in Nashville, according to Carley Johnston of the Red Wings' official site.
Impact Petry played Opening Night and has sat out the last three games. The defenseman had three goals and 21 assists in 73 regular-season games with the Red Wings in 2023-24.

Andrew Copp - Battling flu bug Copp missed practice Friday with the flu, Max Bultman of The Athletic reports.
Impact Copp hasn't been ruled out versus the Predators on Saturday but should probably still be considered questionable. Without the veteran center available for practice, the team recalled Marco Kasper from AHL Grand Rapids on Friday and could deploy him versus Nashville if needed. For his part, Copp hasn't really found his stride this season with just one point in four appearances, a pace that would have him barely reaching the 20-point mark this year.

Tyler Motte - Suffers upper body injury Motte is being evaluated for an upper-body injury suffered Thursday against the Rangers, Max Bultman of The Athletic reports.
Impact Motte should be considered day-to-day at this time and his status for Saturday's tilt in Nashville is up in the air. The fourth-line winger has yet to hit the scoresheet in four games this season, but he has managed eight shots on goal.

Alex Lyon - Used in relief Thursday Lyon replaced Cam Talbot in the second period of Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Rangers and stopped all 15 shots he faced.
Impact Lyon replaced a struggling Talbot midway through the second period, and while he did a good job defending his net, the game was well out of the Red Wings' reach by the time the 31-year-old stepped onto the ice. It's unclear who will start Saturday at Nashville. Lyon has stopped 39 of 42 shots across two appearances this season, posting a 0-1-0 record with a 2.12 GAA and a .929 save percentage.

Cam Talbot - Struggles in loss to Rangers Talbot gave up five goals, including three on the power play, on 19 shots and was removed in the second period of Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Rangers.
Impact Talbot had a rough showing Thursday, giving up two goals in the first period and three more in the second before being lifted and replaced by Alex Lyon. The second period was particularly frustrating for Talbot, as the Red Wings were down 2-1 before the netminder gave up three goals over a four-minute span. Talbot will aim to bounce back when the Red Wings take on the Predators on Saturday.

J.T. Compher - Scores power-play goal in loss Compher notched a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Rangers.
Impact Compher closed out the scoring late in the third period with a tip-in past Jonathan Quick, though the goal didn't affect the outcome of the contest. Compher also set up Moritz Seider's second-period goal, meaning the center was directly involved in both of his team's goals in a game where the Red Wings looked outmatched. This was Compher's first multi-point game of the season and is up to three points over his last three outings.

Moritz Seider - First goal of season Thursday Seider scored a goal in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Rangers.
Impact Seider found the back of the net for the first time this season with a wrister in the early stages of the second period, but his goal didn't spark a comeback for the Red Wings. Seider has been productive to start the campaign and has recorded points in three of his first four outings in 2024-25, but that shouldn't be much of a surprise, as he's notched at least 42 points in his first three years in the league. Seider figures to remain an offensive contributor for the Red Wings despite his role in the blue line.

Impact Kasper's promotion was made under emergency conditions, which would indicate that there is a forward dealing with an injury that could sideline him against the Predators on Saturday. While it's a small sample size, the Austrian has logged a goal and an assist through two minor-league games with the Griffins, likely earning his promotion.
