Moritz Seider - Agrees to seven-year contract Seider signed a seven-year, $59.85 million contract with the Red Wings on Thursday. Impact Seider was a restricted free agent, and this agreement, along with locking Lucas Raymond up to an eight-year, $64.6 million contract Monday, puts Detroit's books in order going into the 2024-25 campaign. As is the case with Raymond's deal, Seider's cap hit ($8.55 million) looks solid now for what he brings to the table and could become tremendous value as he continues to develop and the salary cap increases further. The 23-year-old defenseman had nine goals and 42 points in 82 contests last season, making it the third straight campaign in which he surpassed the 40-point mark. Seider is expected to enter the season as a member of Detroit's top four and receive steady work with the man advantage.
