Ville Husso - Remains week-to-week Husso (lower body) is still week-to-week but should return before the end of the regular season, according to Ansar Khan of MLive.com on Wednesday.
Impact Husso hasn't been in net since Feb. 13. He has a 9-5-2 record, 3.55 GAA and .892 save percentage in 19 appearances in 2023-24. Detroit figures to continue to lean heavily on Alex Lyon during Husso's absence.

Impact That rules Larkin out for Detroit's upcoming contests against Arizona, Buffalo and Pittsburgh on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively. He has 26 goals and 54 points in 55 appearances in 2023-24. Larkin will serve in a top-six capacity and on the first power-play unit when healthy.

Impact Lyon is currently mired in a five-game losing streak during which he has given up four or more goals in each game. Despite the 31-year-old netminder's slump, the team continues to roll with Lyon instead of turning to veteran James Reimer. Still, with the Wings suddenly outside of a playoff spot, Lyon is likely on a short leash.

James Reimer - Needed in relief Tuesday Reimer stopped 23 of 26 shots after replacing Alex Lyon late in the first period of Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the Sabres.
Impact The 35-year-old backup didn't have much more success than Lyon did in the crease, but the ugly loss was a total team effort by Detroit. Reimer has started only three of the Wings' 15 games since the All-Star break, but he's also been needed in relief twice and has a 2.70 GAA and .926 save percentage in those five outings. With Lyon struggling badly at the moment and Detroit having fallen out of a playoff spot due to a six-game losing streak, coach Derek Lalonde has every incentive to give Reimer a bigger workload.

Impact The brutal opening frame was more the fault of the the Red Wings' defense than it was Lyon, as the netminder would make an initial save only for Buffalo to keep the pressure on and eventually find the back of the net. Even so, Lyon has lost five straight starts in regulation and coughed up at least four goals in each one, stumbling to a 5.37 GAA and .850 save percentage during the losing streak. With the Wings suddenly in danger of missing the playoffs, Reimer could see his workload increase substantially.

Impact Losers of six straight contests, the Red Wings need even more from Kane amid the slump and continued absence of captain Dylan Larkin, who, on March 4, was given a two-week return timeline upon sustaining a lower-body injury. Of course, there's still plenty of fantasy value from Kane based on 13 goals, 19 assists and 10 power-play points through 34 games in his debut season with Detroit.

Lucas Raymond - Manages two points in major loss Raymond registered a power-play goal to complement an assist in Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the Sabres.
Impact Held without a point in his previous five games, Raymond got back on track offensively against the Sabres, but this was probably of little consolation to him given that the Red Wings have now lost six straight contests. Raymond has 18 goals, 35 assists working against a team low minus-19 rating through 65 games.
