Alex Lyon - Suffers lower-body injury Lyon suffered a lower-body injury Thursday and will not dress against the Maple Leafs on Friday, according to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press.

Impact Lyon was slated to get the start in goal in Toronto, but Cam Talbot will now get the call. The Red Wings recalled Ville Husso from the AHL on an emergency basis to back up Talbot. Lyon has lost his last two starts, allowing 10 goals on 67 shots and is 2-3-1 with a 2.78 GAA and a .916 save percentage in six appearances this season.

Cam Talbot - Facing Maple Leafs Talbot will defend the visiting crease in Toronto on Friday, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Impact Alex Lyon was slated to get the start but he battling a lower-body injury that forced the Red Wings to recall Ville Husso on an emergency basis. Talbot has been terrific this season, going 4-1-1 with a 2.45 GAA and a .929 save percentage in seven appearances. He will face the Maple Leafs, who will be missing their top star Auston Matthews with an upper-body injury.

Ville Husso - Called up from minors Husso was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids under emergency conditions Friday.

Impact According to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press, the Red Wings are dealing with a flu bug going around the team. As such, the decision to bring up Husso could be an indication that Alex Lyon, who is scheduled to start, or Cam Talbot is under the weather ahead of Friday's matchup with Toronto. Either way, fantasy players shouldn't be expecting Husso to feature against the Leafs on Friday -- though with a back-to-back, it's not out of the question that he would be pressed into service versus the Rangers at home Saturday.

Lucas Raymond - Stays warm with assist Raymond provided an assist in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.

Impact Raymond has a goal and seven assists over his last six games, with five of those eight points coming on the power play. The 22-year-old winger continues to shuffle between the first and second lines, trading places with Patrick Kane regularly, but both are part of the first power-play unit. Raymond has been an excellent playmaker with a goal and 11 assists through 12 outings, but he was a 30-goal scorer last year and is shooting just 5.3 percent, so things should eventually balance out a bit.

Impact Lyon is currently stuck in a two-game losing streak in which he gave up 10 goals on 67 shots (.851 save percentage) and has had to watch Cam Talbot start the Wings' last two contests. A matchup with the star-studded Leafs -- though Auston Matthews (upper body) is a doubt -- isn't exactly the best way to get Lyon back on track but Detroit's back-to-back, with the Rangers at home Saturday, didn't leave the coaching staff with any good options.

Moritz Seider - Generates helper in win Seider produced an assist, three blocked shots and a plus-4 rating in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.

Impact The pairing of Seider and Simon Edvinsson was on the ice for all four of the Red Wings' goals in the win. Seider is starting to find a groove again with five helpers over his last five contests. The 23-year-old defenseman remains capable of excellent category coverage in fantasy. He has eight points (two on the power play), 23 shots on net, 40 hits, 30 blocked shots, 10 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 12 appearances.

Michael Rasmussen - Pockets helper Wednesday Rasmussen produced an assist and two hits in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.

Impact The Red Wings are fully healthy at forward, so Rasmussen will need to maintain a decent level of performance to avoid a healthy scratch. He took a step in the right direction, ending a three-game dry spell when he assisted on Joe Veleno's tally in the third period. Rasmussen has four points, 13 shots on net, 26 hits and a plus-2 rating over 12 outings this season while averaging just 12:47 of ice time, his lowest mark since his rookie year in 2018-19.

Cam Talbot - Records second straight win Talbot stopped 28 of 29 shots in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.

Impact Talbot gave up a goal to Nick Foligno midway through the second period, but he was excellent the rest of the way and posted his second straight win. He's been turning things around of late following a subpar start to the season, posting a 3-0-1 record with a 2.00 GAA and an excellent .941 save percentage across his last four appearances. Even though Talbot has been splitting time with Alex Lyon, there's no question he's been trending in the right direction of late.

Dylan Larkin - Scores, assists Wednesday Larkin notched a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.

Impact Larkin set up Alex DeBrincat's opener with two seconds left in the opening period, and he gave the Red Wings the lead for good midway through the second frame with a wrist shot. This was the second straight multi-point game for Larkin, something he hadn't achieved all season long, and he seems to be trending in the right direction after a somewhat slow start to the campaign. He's up to eight goals in 12 appearances thus far, though fantasy managers would welcome an uptick in the playmaking department since he has just two assists to his name.

Alex DeBrincat - Scores, assists vs. Chicago DeBrincat notched a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.

Impact DeBrincat opened the scoring for the Red Wings with two seconds left in the first period, and then he set up Dylan Larkin's goal, which would be the game-winner, midway through the second frame. DeBrincat has been turning a corner of late following a slow start to the season, and he's notched points in five of his last six outings, including two multi-point games in that span.

Joe Veleno - First goal of season Wednesday Veleno scored a goal in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.

Impact Veleno deflected a shot from Moritz Seider, and his own deflected ricocheted off a Blackhawks player before getting past Petr Mrazek for Detroit's third goal early in the third period. This was Veleno's first goal and second point of the season, so he won't deliver a lot of fantasy production in most formats. He's been putting up solid numbers in other categories, though, as he's racked up 19 hits and nine blocked shots in his 12 contests. Ultimately, though, the lack of scoring can't be overlooked, so fantasy managers would be wise looking at other options in the waiver wire.

Andrew Copp - Nets empty-netter Wednesday Copp scored an empty-netter with 2:13 left in the third period in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.

Impact Copp scored his fifth goal of the season in the dying stages of the contest, and he took advantage of the empty goal to fire the puck home from behind the blue line. Copp has failed to record a goal or assist in seven of his 12 appearances this season, however, so even though he might crack the boxscore from time to time, he doesn't offer enough production on a game-to-game basis to be worthy of rostering in most formats.
