David Perron - Appealing suspensionThe NHLPA has submitted an appeal on behalf of Perron for his six-game suspension that he was given Monday.

ImpactPerron was given the suspension for cross-checking Artem Zub in Saturday's game versus the Senators. The 35-year-old Perron does not have a history of supplemental discipline, which may play in his favor during the appeal process. If the suspension stands as-is, the winger won't be eligible to return until Dec. 22 versus the Flyers.

ImpactMaatta had gone eight games without a point, and he sat twice as a healthy scratch in that span. The Red Wings continue to rotate Maatta, Justin Holl and Jeff Petry out of the lineup on occasion. Maatta has five assists, eight shots on goal, 25 blocked shots, 15 hits and a plus-2 rating through 22 appearances this season, and he's unlikely to see more than a third-pairing role when he plays.

ImpactFischer helped out on Daniel Sprong's goal in the first period. For the season, he's at 14 points, 20 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through 15 appearances, playing mainly in a middle-six role.
