Patrick Kane - Garners helper SaturdayKane generated a power-play assist in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Lightning.
ImpactKane has been dynamite in the new calendar year, racking up four goals and nine helpers through eight games. The future Hall of Famer has only been held off the scoresheet one one occasion during that span. Furthermore, Kane has recorded a point in nine of 11 games since Todd McLellan replaced Derek Lalonde as head coach Dec. 27. The 36-year-old Kane has more points in January than he did in November and December combined. The Buffalo native is at 11 goals, 19 assists and a minus-7 rating through 40 outings this season.

Moritz Seider - Nabs power-play apple in defeatSeider compiled a power-play helper, five shots on goal, eight hits, two takeaways and 24:21 of ice time in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Lightning.
ImpactSeider helped out on Lucas Raymond's marker on the man advantage in an eventful second period Saturday that saw a combined five goals. Seider has assists in back-to-back games and three of his last four, but he hasn't found the back of the net since Dec. 14. The right-shot blueliner has covered for the lack of goal scoring with eight helpers through as many games in January. On the season, Detroit's No. 1 defenseman has provided four goals and 28 points through 45 contests.

Lucas Raymond - Pots goal in defeatRaymond scored a power-play goal on three shots and went minus-1 in Saturday's 5-1 loss to Tampa Bay.
ImpactRaymond recorded his fifth power-play goal of the campaign at 14:12 of the middle frame, but that was all Andrei Vasilevskiy would allow on a night in which Detroit almost doubled up Tampa Bay in shots on goal. Raymond is riding a seven-game point streak consisting of four goals and 12 points. The right-shot winger has only been held off the scoresheet on one occasion over his last 11 outings. Todd McLellan seems to have unlocked a new level to Raymond's game after taking over as head coach Dec. 27. The 22-year-old is on track for a career year, having accumulated 19 goals and 31 helpers (24 on the power play) across 45 appearances this season.

Ilya Lyubushkin - Garners helperLyubushkin notched an assist in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Avalanche.
ImpactLyubushkin snapped a 10-game point drought when he helped out on the first of Jason Robertson's two goals in the contest. The 30-year-old Lyubushkin has held a steady spot on the Stars' blue line this year, but he offers little in the way of offense. He's at nine assists, 26 shots on net, 51 hits, 66 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating through 45 appearances, so he won't help in many fantasy formats.

Matt Duchene - Two power-play points in winDuchene scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Avalanche.
ImpactDuchene's consistency has dipped recently -- he has five points over his last six games despite getting on the scoresheet in just two of those contests. He tends to play well against the team that drafted him, earning 20 points over 18 career games against the Avalanche. The 34-year-old center has had a strong 2024-25 with 18 goals, 25 assists, 81 shots on net, 14 power-play points and a plus-8 rating through 45 appearances.

Cam Talbot - Pulled in loss to Tampa BayTalbot allowed five goals on 16 shots before being replaced by Alex Lyon for the start of the third period in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Lightning.
ImpactTalbot surrendered three goals at even strength and two on the power play through 40 minutes of game action before ceding the net to Alex Lyon. Talbot was blitzed for three markers in the opening four minutes of the second period, effectively putting the contest out of reach on a night in which Andrei Vasilevskiy turned aside 39 shots on net. This was the 37-year-old Talbot's first loss through six outings in January. Overall, the Ontario native has a 11-10-2 record, .901 save percentage and 3.07 GAA through 25 appearances in 2024-25.
