Vincent Desharnais - Assigned to AHL affiliateDesharnais (illness) was assigned to AHL Bakersfield on Friday.

ImpactDesharnais missed Wednesday's game versus Detroit due to an illness, but his demotion to the minors suggests he's no longer under the weather. The 26-year-old defender has collected four helpers through 12 top-level appearances this season. It wouldn't be surprising to see him back with the big club in the near future.

ImpactThe move was necessitated by Edmonton activating Kailer Yamamoto, as the Oilers are tight to the salary cap. Holloway has three goals and nine points in 51 games with the Oilers. He will see his first AHL action of the season on the weekend.

Klim Kostin - Late scratch FridayKostin (undisclosed) was a late scratch for Friday's game against the Rangers, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports.

ImpactKostin has nine goals and 14 points in 38 contests while averaging 10:40 of ice time this season. He also missed Sunday's contest against Montreal because of an undisclosed injury, but it's not clear if his absence versus the Rangers is related to that. The Oilers don't currently have a healthy player on their roster to replace Kostin with, so they'll dress just 11 forwards and six defensemen Friday.

ImpactCampbell has a 17-8-2 record, 3.29 GAA and .888 save percentage in 28 contests this season. He's surrendered at least three goals in four of his last five outings. The Rangers have won their last six games, bringing their record up to 32-14-8.
