Impact The Flames continue to alternate goalie starts, and it's Wolf's turn after Dan Vladar took a 4-2 loss versus the Hurricanes on Thursday. Wolf has yet to take a loss this year, allowing seven goals on 110 shots. Something will have to give Saturday, as the Jets enter this contest undefeated (7-0-0).

Picks up shootout win Wolf stopped 35 of 38 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Penguins.

Impact The Penguins put up a good effort, but the Flames twice answered to tie the game in the third period. Wolf then turned aside four of six shootout attempts to improve his record to 3-0-0 on the year. He's allowed just seven goals despite facing 110 shots, though he's yet to face a team that made the playoffs last season. The Flames have alternated goalies early on, and if that holds, Wolf is lined up to start at home against the currently undefeated Jets on Saturday.

Impact Wolf has a 2-0-0 record, 2.02 GAA and .944 save percentage in two starts this season. He turned aside 31 of 32 shots en route to a 3-1 victory over Chicago in his most recent start last Tuesday. Pittsburgh is off to a mediocre 3-4-0 start and rank 14th offensively with 3.43 goals per game.

The 23-year-old has alternated starts with Dan Vladar, and with the Flames off to a 4-0-0 start, that pattern may continue. The Flames have some extra rest before a one-game road trip to face the Kraken on Saturday.

Impact Wolf was tested heavily in the contest and met the challenge, earning the win his season debut. He looked a little better than Dan Vladar did against the Canucks on Wednesday as well, though the heavy workload Wolf faced Saturday likely means Vladar will face the Oilers on Sunday. The Calgary crease is likely to be an ongoing competition for much of the year, but the 23-year-old Wolf has better value in keeper and dynasty fantasy formats.

Strong through two frames Wolf made 22 saves in a 5-2 loss to the Jets on preseason action on Wednesday.

Impact He was sharp, but couldn't hold back the Jets in the third when they broke a 2-2 tie and never looked back. The athletic netminder has little to prove in the AHL, but will be tested by talented NHL lineups this season. Wolf is a two-time AHL top goalie (2022, 2023) and AHL MVP (2023), among a litany of awards over his young career. He's duelling with Dan Vladar for the starter's role, but 27-year-old journeyman Logan Cooley has impressed Flames brass, too. Wolf could end up in a three-headed goalie situation in the first week or two, but that shouldn't interfere with his fantasy value this season. The Flames could settle into a "hot hand" approach in net as the team rebuilds, and Wolf will be a sharp daily play.
