Guarding goal Saturday Stolarz will get the home start versus the Islanders on Saturday, according to Katie Engleson of Bally Sports Florida.
Impact This will be Stolarz's fourth start in the last 10 games as coach Paul Maurice has been showing some faith in the netminder. Stolarz has given up only two goals on 67 shots in his last two outings, as he is 3-1-1 with a 1.99 GAA and .929 save percentage. The Islanders are one of the weaker teams in the NHL, as far as offensive production is concerned, scoring only 60 goals in 22 games while averaging 29.3 shots per contest.

Impact Balinskis has a goal and two points in 15 games with Florida this season. The 27-year-old signed a one-year, entry-level contract with the Panthers in April after scoring 11 goals and 35 points in 50 contests with Liberec of the Czech League last year.

Impact After chipping the puck off the boards to Sam Bennett for what proved to be the game-winner just eight seconds into the third period, Verhaeghe found the back of the net himself a little over five minutes later. It's the 28-year-old's fifth multi-point performance in the last 14 games, a stretch in which Verhaeghe has amassed seven goals and 14 points -- including four power-play tallies -- as he slips back into the form that allowed him to erupt for career highs with 42 goals and 73 points in 2022-23.

Impact Both points came in the third period as the Panthers blew open a 1-0 game. Rodrigues had been held off the scoresheet for eight straight games prior to Thursday, his second point drought of at least five games already this season, but the streaky winger still has four goals and 15 points through 23 contests while supplementing his production with 58 shots on net, 23 hits and a plus-10 rating.

Impact The game was actually scoreless through the first 20 minutes and change, but Barkov kicked open the floodgates for the Florida offense with an impressive individual effort -- he stole the puck at his own blue line, out-raced Montreal defenders down the ice and then beat Cayden Primeau glove side. Barkov missed a couple games in November with a minor knee issue but has been his usual productive self when on the ice, racking up five goals and 14 points in his last 12 contests.

Impact The veteran netminder nearly posted a second straight shutout, but he couldn't squeeze a Johnny Kovacevic snapshot from the faceoff circle midway through the third period with the Panthers already up 4-0. Bobrovsky allowed more than three goals only once in 11 starts through the month of November, going 8-3-0 with a dazzling 2.11 GAA and .918 save percentage, and the two-time Vezina winner appears to be turning back the clock and re-discovering an elite form he hasn't flashed with any consistency since his Columbus days.
