Impact Shesterkin is coming off a 28-save performance in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over Chicago. He has surrendered three or more goals in four of his past five outings en route to a 2-2-1 record. Shesterkin has gone 20-12-1 this season with a 2.86 GAA and an .899 save percentage through 33 games played. The Flames sit 16th in the league with 3.13 goals per contest this campaign.

Solid in overtime win Shesterkin kicked out 28 of 31 shots in a 4-3 overtime win over the Blackhawks on Friday.

Impact After not starting a game since Jan. 26, Shesterkin got the nod on Friday night and was able to hold on to the win even after the Blackhawks made a frantic comeback in the third period. Shesterkin allowed a goal early in the game on a wrister from far out by Alex Vlasic on only the Blackhawks second shot of the game. The 28-year old netminder turned away the next 24 shots until Nick Foligno made it close on the second goal and then Jason Dickinson tied it up with only 1:02 left to eventually put it into overtime. The Blackhawks were unable to produce a shot in the extra period, Mika Zibanejad scored to get the win for the Rangers and Shesterkin finished with a .903 save percentage. New York will play host to the Flames on Monday.

Between pipes versus Hawks Shesterkin will tend the twine on the road against Chicago on Friday, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.

Impact Shesterkin will suit up for the first time since Jan. 26 versus Vegas, a game in which he gave up four goals on just 19 shots (.789 save percentage). The Russian netminder has been struggling of late, sporting a 3.32 GAA in his last four appearances while posting a 1-2-1 record. While Jonathan Quick started each of the Rangers' last three contests, Shesterkin remains the No. 1 option in the blue paint.

The Rangers out-shot the opposition 38-19 on the night but couldn't take advantage of their opportunities, while puck luck was definitely on the Knights' side -- two of the tallies against Shesterkin came on tip-ins, while a third was the product of a hard carom off the end boards that went straight to Jonathan Marchessault and gave the netminder no time to react. Shesterkin will be happy to put January behind him, and through 10 starts on the month he's gone 4-5-1 with a 3.25 GAA and .863 save percentage.

Facing Golden Knights Shesterkin will defend the home net versus Vegas on Friday, according to Dan Rosen of NHL.com.

Impact Shesterkin is 1-1-1 in his last three starts, giving up nine goals on 65 shots, as he has not faced more than 25 shots in any of the three tilts. Shesterkin has struggled this season more than any other time in his five-year NHL career, going 19-11-1 with a 2.82 GAA and a .901 save percentage. He will attempt to turn his season around versus the Golden Knights, who are only 8-8-1 since Dec. 15.

Falters in overtime loss Shesterkin allowed three goals on 22 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Sharks.

Impact Shesterkin had a two-goal lead to protect entering the third period, but he let it slip away. Tomas Hertl completed the Sharks' comeback with a goal 1:29 into overtime. While Shesterkin has had some uneven play this season, he's at least managed to pile up his fair share of wins. He's won nine of his last 14 outings and is now at 19-11-1 with a 2.82 GAA and a .901 save percentage through 31 appearances. The Rangers have a back-to-back up next, as they'll host the Golden Knights on Friday before visiting the Senators on Saturday.

Impact Both Seattle tallies came on power plays, and Shesterkin handled everything else the Kraken fired at him on a night the Rangers were out-shot 31-22. The 28-year-old netminder has yet to put together a truly dominant stretch this season of more than a couple weeks, and through six starts in January he's gone 3-3-0 with a disappointing 3.20 GAA and .873 save percentage. Remarkably, Shesterkin is 18-0-0 this season when allowing three goals or less, and 0-10-0 when giving up four goals or more.

Shesterkin is easily having his worst season in the NHL and will look to get back on track versus the Blues, who have scored 108 goals in 39 games, 28th in the NHL.
