Impact Skarek was a third-round draft pick by the Islanders in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The 24-year-old is unlikely to be claimed on waivers -- he has yet to post a save percentage above .900 or a GAA below 3.00 in his five years of AHL experience. Skarek went 7-22-6 with an .888 save percentage and a 3.23 GAA in 36 regular-season appearances with AHL Bridgeport in 2023-24.

Impact Skarek posted a 15-16-3 record in the minors this season with a 3.37 GAA and an .892 save percentage in 38 appearances. He will serve as the third goaltender for the Islanders in the postseason behind Ilya Sorokin and Semyon Varlamov.

Impact Skarek won't be getting into a game for the club anytime soon and should be considered a longshot for the 23-man roster next year. The 20-year-old netminder saw action in 16 contests for AHL Bridgeport in this season but still split time in the ECHL as well, something he shouldn't have to do in 2020-21.
