Released from tryout Weatherby was released from his professional tryout with the Oilers on Wednesday.
Trying out with Oilers Weatherby signed a professional tryout agreement with the Oilers on Thursday, per Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton.
Impact Weatherby played 66 games with AHL Milwaukee in 2023-24, scoring 12 times while adding 13 assists. The 26-year-old played in 50 regular-season games with San Jose during the 2021-22 campaign, picking up five goals and 11 points, but has not played in the NHL since then.

Signs with Nashville Weatherby signed a one-year, two-way contract with Nashville on Monday.
Impact Weatherby notched six goals and 17 points in 70 AHL games with San Jose and Grand Rapids last season. The 25-year-old forward will probably spend most, if not all, of the 2023-24 campaign in the minors.
