Earns win in NHL season debut Hofer saved 32 of 34 shots in a 5-2 victory over Washington on Friday.
Impact Hofer was making his season debut, and the Blues provided him with plenty of offensive support to secure the victory. Jordan Binnington was serving the first outing of his two-game suspension, which is why Hofer is up with St. Louis. Once Binnington's eligible to return for the Blues' game against Detroit on March 21, the 22-year-old goaltender will probably head back to AHL Springfield, where he's posted a 2.50 GAA and a .920 save percentage in 40 contests.

Recalled from AHL Hofer was recalled from AHL Springfield on Thursday, Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact Hofer was recalled when Jordan Binnington received a two-game suspension for his match penalty versus the Wild on Wednesday. Hofer was 22-14-4 with a 2.50 GAA and .920 save percentage in AHL action before his recall. He played two games with the Blues last season, going 1-1-0, stopping 44 of 50 shots in a win versus the Sharks and a loss to the Hurricanes. He likely will back up Thomas Greiss for both games.
