Gets points but dominated by Toews McDavid scored a goal and added two assists, all on the power play, in a 6-4 loss to Chicago in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers on Saturday.

Impact McDavid was dominant on the power play, but he was absolutely dominated in the faceoff circle. Jonathan Toews schooled the young stud, leaving him with just a handful of faceoff wins (4-of-12). McDavid came into Game 1 looking like he was on a mission and three points are great. But the players around him need to tighten their shin pads and play a better team game, or the Oil could be watching this tournament from home. Game 2 is Monday.

At postseason best Toews scored two goals, added an assist and dominated Connor McDavid in the face-off circle in Chicago's 6-4 win over Edmonton in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers on Saturday.

Impact Captain Serious was at his postseason best. He won 16-of-25 faceoffs while McDavid went 4-for-12. Toews was instrumental in helping rookie linemate Dominik Kubalik set an NHL record for most points in his postseason debut (five). It remains to be seen if Toews and company are in the Oilers' heads just yet, but a Game 1 win is often a predictor of success in a five-game series.
