Tough luck OT loss Korpisalo made 20 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss to Boston on Thursday.

Impact He hasn't lost in regulation in five games (3-0-2). Korpisalo may be turning the corner on a poor season up to this point. He went 1-9-1 in 10 games prior to this solid run. But don't overrate his three recent wins -- two came against Montreal and the other was against San Jose. It's not exactly like those two teams are offensive juggernauts.

Slated to face Bruins Korpisalo is expected to start at home against Boston on Thursday, according to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun.

Impact Korpisalo has a 10-15-1 record, 3.46 GAA and .889 save percentage in 29 contests this season. He saved 24 of 25 shots in a 4-1 victory over Montreal in his last start Tuesday. Boston, which ranks seventh offensively with 3.45 goals per game, will be a difficult matchup for Korpisalo.

Sharp in win No. 10 Korpisalo made 24 saves in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Canadiens.

Impact The 29-year-old netminder took a shutout into the third period, but Johnny Kovacevic got a shot past him through a screen midway through the final frame. Korpisalo is on a bit of a roll, allowing only five goals on 77 shots over his last three starts while going 2-0-1, but it should be noted that two of those outings came against a Habs squad that's in the bottom five in the league in goals scored per game. On the season, Korpisalo is 10-15-1 with a 3.46 GAA and .889 save percentage, but he figures to remain Ottawa's No. 1 goalie until Anton Forsberg (groin) is ready to return.

In goal versus Montreal Korpisalo will protect the road goal Tuesday versus the Canadiens, per TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.

Impact Korpisalo has gone 2-3-1 over seven outings in January, and he continues to struggle overall with a 3.25 GAA and an .876 save percentage in that span. The Canadiens are at least a favorable matchup for the 29-year-old. Montreal has scored just 15 goals in its last six games, earning just two wins during that stretch.

Tough luck loss to Jets Korpisalo made 27 saves in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Jets on Saturday.

Impact It's hard to fault him on either goal. The first off the stick of Mason Appleton came on a 3-on-1 rush, and the winner came on a bang-bang play from the slot from sniper Nikolaj Ehlers. Korpisalo has had a rough season, but has been playing better hockey of late. And there is hope that newly-promoted goalie coach and former NHLer, Justin Peters, who had been working with the Sens AHL affiliate, can help Korpisalo improve from the bottom of the NHL's goaltending stat list. He's 54th among qualified goalies (14 games or more) in GAA with 3.56 and 52nd in save percentage (.887). Honestly, there's almost nowhere but up for Korpisalo at this point, so keep your fingers crossed if he's stashed on your bench.

Impact Korpisalo's won his last two starts, including a 21-save effort against Montreal on Thursday. Still, the 29-year-old netminder is 9-15-0 with a subpar .885 save percentage and 3.63 GAA this season. He'll face a Winnipeg team that's averaging 3.33 goals per game.

Cruises to win Thursday Korpisalo made 21 saves in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Canadiens.

Impact He got a lot of help from his posts early while the game still hung in the balance, but Ottawa scored four straight goals beginning in the second period to pull away. Korpisalo has won two straight starts after losing three straight, and his season continues to be frustratingly inconsistent. Since the beginning of December, he's gone 4-10-0 with a 3.85 GAA and .871 save percentage.

Slated to start Thursday Korpisalo will defend the home crease against Montreal on Thursday, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

Impact Korpisalo snapped a three-game losing streak Saturday, stopping only 14 shots in a 5-4 win over San Jose. Korpisalo is 8-15-0 with a 3.70 GAA and an .884 save percentage in 26 appearances this season. He has been a disappointment, after signing a five-year contract in the offseason. The Canadiens average 28.5 shots per contest, 27th in the NHL.

Bailed out by offense Korpisalo turned aside 14 shots in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Sharks.

Impact The 29-year-old netminder didn't really have much chance on any of the pucks that beat him, as the Ottawa defense kept leaving San Jose skaters wide open for rebounds and one-timers, but the Senators' offense was able to make up for it. Korpisalo is the team's No. 1 goalie right now with Anton Forsberg (groin) out until at least February, but a rough 4.24 GAA and .862 save percentage over his last 12 outings could give Mads Sogaard a chance to move past him on the depth chart with a good performance or two.

Impact Korpisalo surrendered two goals in each period of the contest. It's the latest in a long line of rough starts for the 29-year-old -- he's allowed at least four goals in six of his last seven outings. That's dragged him down to a 7-12-0 record, 3.66 GAA and .890 save percentage in 21 games this season. As bad as that is, there are two primary reasons Korpisalo is likely to continue to start regularly. The first is Ottawa signed him to a five-year, $20 million contract over the summer, so the Senators are invested in making this work. The other factor is backup goaltender Anton Forsberg, whose 3.29 GAA and .877 save percentage in 12 appearances isn't good enough to meaningfully threaten even a struggling Korpisalo.

Surprise winner over Maple Leafs Korpisalo made 34 saves in a 4-2 win over Toronto on Wednesday.

Impact Korpisalo's mates came out of the gate asleep, and the netminder was bombarded. The Leafs scored two goals within 23 seconds early in the first frame, and it looked like it was going to be a rough night. But he bricked things up, and the Leafs couldn't solve him, even on three power plays. That included a sharp left pad save on a John Tavares breakaway attempt on a power play to keep the game 2-2 as time expired in the second. It was Korpisalo's first win since Dec. 9 and just his second win in nine games (2-7-0). Unfortunately, it's unlikely many fantasy managers had him active Wednesday, given the strength of his opponent and his poor record.
