Impact Loof has an assist and 21 PIM in 11 appearances with AHL Springfield in 2024-25. He hasn't made his NHL debut, and there's no guarantee it will come Thursday versus Buffalo. Still, with Philip Broberg (lower body) joining fellow defensemen Torey Krug (ankle) and Nick Leddy (lower body) on injured reserve, the Blues were down to six healthy blueliners, so the addition of Loof offers the team some insurance and flexibility.

Signs entry-level contract Loof signed a three-year, entry-level contract with St. Louis on Friday.
Impact The defenseman was taken in the third round -- 88th overall -- in 2020. Loof has spent the last two seasons with Ilves Tampere of the Finnish liiga. He had four goals and 16 points in 55 regular-season games, and he followed that up with a goal and two assists in 12 postseason games.
