Signs massive eight-year deal Draisaitl agreed to terms on an eight-year, $112 million contract with Edmonton on Tuesday.
Impact Draisaitl's new deal will see him earning $14 million AAV, which will make him the highest-paid player in the NHL -- even above teammate Connor McDavid and Toronto's Auston Matthews. Last season could maybe be termed a down year for the 28-year-old center considering he failed to reach the 50-goal threshold for the first time in the previous three years and was limited to just 39 power-play points -- down from 62 the year prior. Still, Draisaitl should be a near lock to reach 100 points this year and offers amazing durability considering he has missed just five games over the previous three seasons.
